I am brand new to this, so thanks in advance for any help you can give. I am trying to back up BOB and, so far, I got disc 2 to work with DVD Shrink by itself. Disc 1, however, gives me the following error:
DVD Shrink 3.2
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Failed to read file 'D:\'
The parameter is incorrect

Taking advice from some of the other threads on this site, I have tried using DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD, to no avail. DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 gives the following error on it's autorun:
I/O error
Device: [0:0:0] Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615 FD51 (D:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 37 88 04 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 3639300

Sense Area: 28 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Logical block address out of range

If I close the error and manually start the decryption, it gets to 90% and gives a similar error (various error messages have different sector numbers on the interpretation for CDB. If I abort it gives error messages advising no decryption key found for 'VTS_01_7.VOB' (as an example) and asking if I would like to get a decrypter key from another file in the same VTS set. AnyDVD 5.9.4.1 also gets to 90% complete and gives a read error. If I ignore read errors it goes to 92% and displays error "couldn't read m_data". Both AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter will save the first episode (of 2 per disc) to the HDD but doesn't do anything with the second and says they are complete. When I try to open the files in DVD Shrink it gives an error about Invalid DVD navigation structure. Sorry the post is so large but I want to be thourough.

Since you'd already got DVD Shrink, now all you need to do is download DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 and VobBlanker 2.1.0.0. and install on your system.

Here's what you need to do:

*NOTE: inprior to proceed, go to your hard drive or C: drive; make a folder name VOB_BAND OF BROTHERS and a sub-folder name VIDEO_TS inside VOB_BAND OF BROTHERS, then exit out.

<> rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 or the latest

<> process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker (only 5 - 10 minutes). INPUT = your VIDEO_TS.IFO file that you ripped with DVDFAB Decrypter earlier, OUTPUT = VOB_BAND OF BROTHERS\VIDEO_TS (this is your new folder that you created and will be your fresh movie file once VobBlanker is done), and click PROCESS.

<> Open Files (the newly created VOB_BAND OF BROTHERS\VIDEO_TS file from VobBlanker) via DVD Shrink and transcode the movie as your usual process. And finally, burn the VIDEO_TS file or ISO file with any of your burning engines.

That's it... 100% success. No glitches, no hassle, no hustle, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, no chapters jumping, no black screens.

For more info on how to use "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker", click on my name or the bold link under my sig.

Good luck!!

When I get to the step that states "<> rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 or the latest" I downloaded the appropriate version and attempted to rip. DVDFAB gives the following error message: Get DVD information fail. 4096

Anticipating a pervasive suggestion in other posts, I have tried a disc one from my set and a friend's so I would doubt that it is a problem with the quality/cleanliness of the source.
