Problems with DGEN Sound!

Hey everyone,
I am trying to run homebrew on my new PSP (firmware version 2.50). I have GTA Liberty City Stories and I can get Eloader version 0.95 to run fine. I also put DGEN 0.7 (a Sega Megadrive/Genesis emulator) onto my PSP, and some old Sonic the Hedgehog roms onto it.
I have checked that Dgen is compatible here *(http://www.fanjita.org/)*
When I run the DGEN program and select my rom to play, it loads up fine. Then, when the sound begins, it is very staticy and jumpy. I dont know how to fix this problem and i hope you can help.
I have tested these roms to check they work on my PC using Fusion35 and everything, including the sound is ok.
Hopefully someone can assist me,

Have you tried messing with the settings eg, sound freq set to 44k
maybe frame skip?

Nah that sound bites. Have you tried other games or is it like that on all?
Hmmmm i dont know man cos i dont use DGEN, i also have had problems with it and (some) games.
Have you tried PSPGenesis it doesnt have save state, but its got better compatibility
Oh man 4gb memory sticks are out

Tried a couple of things.
Firstly, I tried a new rom with Dgen and it still gave me the rubbish sound.
I then tried PSP Genesis, and when i clicked it to load it went all black and powered my PSP off. I checked http://www.fanjita.org/ and it also says PSP Genesis will not work. Any more suggests would be great :)

How did u get it to run in the first place mate, am havin awful trouble with, its on the eloader menu id pic on the psp is fine but when i press x it just goes to a black screen, power lite stays on awhile then it just shuts down. V2.6GTA

Dgen 1.30 works and the sound is pretty good BUT this emulator is odd it only seems to work (for me) if LUA player is ran 1st.

Where did you put LUA Player and DGEN 1.30 folder on your memory stick?

Just stick the dgen folder in GAME (separate from LUA) and then just put the roms in the dgen folder and you should be all set.

Ok ive done everything correct, i get into DGEN and when I select my rom it comes up now loading then goes to a black screen and my PSP powers off.
EDIT: New rom does the same thing. I have to go for 1hr .. please help while im away.

Have you got the latest config installed? If not you can get it from Fanjita's site, dgen is very odd because i couldn't get it working b4 i use Lua and others have reported it worked fine without anything else, afraid am out of ideas :( but you can take a look at this:

P4 tt me firmware is V2.6 using the GTA exploit, it does load up fine, settings is all there, but the rom is missing, first i placed it in game folder, it never came up, so i moved it to the dgen folder and noting, am just wondering is it the rom its self, but it still should ave came up, any ideas mate?

Sounds to me like it could be the rom, what format is it in because they have to be .bin
