Hi everyone!
I would like to know what is the best way to rip an original dvd movie to my hard disc and then burn it on a dual layer media so that I won`t lose any quality?
I just want to burn an original dvd movie without any lose of quality - one to one with no compression...

Best way I know is to use DVD Decrypter and rip in iso read mode the use Decrypter in iso write mode. You open the MDS file and Decrypter will set the layer break. This is dependent on the movie you are doing, since Decrypter cannot do some of the newer protected movies. In which case you can run AnyDVD behind it to rip in iso moce. There is a 21 day free trial of AnyDVD from http://www.slysoft.com. Other software available here with guide.

First of all - Thanks for your reply.

Second - I heard that Clonedvd2/anydvd is a good software too...

Can it rip my dvd to my hard disc? and if so, can it rip it to 4.7gb? (the movie is dual layer).

And the last question: Is it better to first rip my dvd movie to my hard disc and then burn?

thanks again.

Are you wanting to put this on a DVD5 disk or a DVD9 disk? Here is guide for AnyDVD and CloneDVD

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72022

Clone DVD will rip to your HDD and create either VOB file or ISO, it will also rip and encode and burn your files with 1 click. It will also do dual layer backups. Both programs are very good, AnyDVD can be used in the background to break encryption with a number of programs such as DVD Shrink and Nero Recode. Ripping to your HDD first is a matter of preference, I sometimes do if I plan on using other sw such as DVD Rebuilder, but many times I will just use Nero Recode and rip temporarily to the HDD and then burn. It is much better to at least rip temporarily to the HDD rather than an on the fly burn which is disk to disk, it makes for less chance of errors.

CloneDVD is a very good and easy program. It has excellent reauthoring capabilities. Clone will temporarily rip/transcode to your HDD and then it will burn. Your best bet is to try the programs out and see if you like them. There is a 21 day trial on both.
