I have been attempting to back up my Bambi 2 DVD and have consistently encountered the same memory location error. I used the following process:

DVD FabDecrypter, VobBlanker (using a typical in/out process as well as checking the forum and blanking 2,3 & 4 in VOB 1 specifically),Open files in in shrink and at exactly 80% analyzing get the same error message. Ouch!

Do I need to uninstall/reinstall? All the freeware is latest versions as of 02-26-06

<help>

Thanks,

You must delete any previous version of DVDFab for the update to take effect...so yes remove DVDFab and redownload and reinstall.

Hi
Out of courtesy and thanks for your willingness to help me I wanted to post my findings. I did uninstall Fabdecrypter, but that made no difference. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vobblanker as well.

I thought that maybe the problem was my DMA settings because I remembered this DMA flag window that popped up and said something to the effect that my DMA was not turned on, would I like to turn it on, and that not having it on could greatly decrease... blah blah, blah. I left clicked "turn on" button to reactivate DMA and didn't think anything more about it at the time. This was prior to any of the errors.
So I started researching the DMA settings and how to check them & change them and when I did, they were turned on. I would imagine maybe they had not been on prior to the fabdecrypter's prompt.

The error continued to occur each time in shrink, and I was getting about ready to throw in the proverbial towel I thought, you know, the one thing I have not done is to uninstall and reinstall shrink, so I did and it worked! The odd thing is that the shrink version appeared to be the same as the one I had previously but the size of the shrink program window was quite different, although almost everything appeared to have been the same in terms of features and controls.

Anyhow, it was a confusing mess for my obsessive and stubborn mind that lasted most of the day Sunday. All is well now. Why? I really don't have a clue.
