Yeah u can scan for it, as long as u have a wireless router. Do u have one dinner? or are u using a wired modem to connect to the internet?

Yes, of course I have a wireless router=). I have acessed internet plenty of times before. But it doesn't have a password. I just wan't to make a password so that the tenant under my house can't get into it. (What's a wired modem?)

In windows go to
Start - run - type in cmd and press enter
command prompt pops up in a black screen type in
ipconfig.
Now where it says default gateway write that number down that is your routers ip , you can close command prompt.
Enter the ip address in the address bar of ur internet browser, that will give u access to the settings on ur router, it may ask u for a username and password, defaults are sometimes *Admin* for both options. When ur in you can configure ur router, i,ll help if i can with this but every router config is different, if u can post the make of ur router that may help, someone on here may have the same router as you.

Ok. Thanks Dude.. I did make it to change the SSID.. But I can't change the password. It says that the changes is saved, but when I try to enter it with my laptop I can get in without a password.. Have any idea? Or should I go to the Windows forum?

Are you using WEP?
If so you have 2 choices ASCII or HEXI
if you chose ascii youll need a 5 character password can be letters & numbers
If you choose HEXI you need 8 numbers
Also if you cant connect try setting your key to open instead of "shared"
Make sure you click apply and then click something along the lines of "save config to flash"

Sometimes to keep things peaceful you need a Piece thats Full
