I have a V14 [new slimline pstwo], and am looking to buy one of these packages:

http://www.modchip.com/ps2/v12fliptop.php
http://www.modchip.com/ps2/magickeysorder.php
http://www.modchip.com/ps2/v12slimkit.php

What are the pros and cons of each, and which do you suggest?

Thanks

IMHO, fliptops are no longer the way to go if you own a V12+ PS2 and want to use SM or some type of boot disc.

I'd go with either MagicKeys II or Slimkit Pro. Both generally do the same thing, they're just competing products.

The main deciding factor between fliptop and keys/slim is in the fact that the keys/slim install without voiding your warranty and can be removed at will. Plus, some of the fliptops for the V12 are cheaply made and can harm your PS2 in the long run.

However, with Slimkit Pro, since you have a V14, you're not going to want what you linked, which is the "Black" version. You'll want the "Silver" version, made specifically for the Satin/Silver PS2's with the metal plate. Though for some reason I can't find a link to a place that sells the Silver anymore, so right now I'd say go with MKII.

Signature? What signature!? Oh wait...I actually have one
now.

I just got the Magic Keys with Swap Magic today in the post.
It was annoying to install the big tool into the small hole.
And when I try to close the lid the tool pops out.
So now I have play with the lid open all the time.
