This is what it says in DVD Decrypter:

@nibraz
What brand of discs are your using? To find the manufacturer id just put a blank one in decrypter and on the right hand side it will give the discs info.

Try updating your firmware 1st - your 2 versions behind. Here's a link:
http://cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/SingleModel.aspx?DriveId=1008
Next the media your using as rotary said is probably causing your problem. UME01 is not 'A' list stuff. Instore look for Verbatim or Made in Japan Fuji or Sony.

Decrypter shows your drive as P but this firmware is also for B.
Look in decrypter and check if the firmware took - after your drive name is should now say B3.6. Did you follow the directions that came with the download? Have you rebooted?

Did the firmware take? The firmware shouldn't have affected the ejecting - I've had that problem with crappy media.

Did you install the correct fw? Try uninstalling your drive from the device mgr and let Windows redetect it. I will try and think if there is anything else that might be causing this.

Well at this point you can try and reflash to your old fw and see if this corrects the problem. Go back to the site binkie gave you and dl the B3.4 and see if it will go back, maybe this will correct it.

What firmware version is showing now? Check your connections also.
Try also switching your media - the only time I've had this problem again was with the media I was using. Try Verbatim or look for made in Japan Fuji or Sony. Updating the firmware helps your drive w/ the newer media and read/write strategies.
Here's also a link to Philips website with the same firmware:
http://storageupdates.philips.com/dvdrw.html#16
Scroll down to your drive.

Txs Arniebear!!

If your drive has an emergency eject button, which is usually a very small hole, try sticking a bent paper clip in it and see if the drive will eject. If this does not work I agree with Rotary it sounds like the drive is dead. It was having problems before the upgrade and upgrading should have fixed the media problem.

CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, Multiburner, and Multi-Recorder drives are also referred to as optical drives. These drives can fail in several ways:
Power failure, either from the power supply to the drive, or internal to the drive.
Mechanical failure. The drive has power, but does not eject the drawer or does not perform some other mechanical function.
Read failure. The drive does not recognize the disc when inserted.
Write failure. The write function fails to work correctly. The read function does work correctly.
Configuration. The drive reads the disc properly to some extent, but does not perform all of its functions correctly.
Audio failure.
Quote:
If the drive tray is jammed, and the tray cannot be ejected and cleared manually, the drive should be replaced. Some drives have an emergency eject hole. See CD-ROM drive layout for an example of an emergency eject hole and instructions on how to use it.
Quote:
Make sure all drive jumpers are properly configured, including hard drives. (Master, Master with slave, Slave, or Cable Select). In most cases, newly installed drives that do not work are not configured correctly.

Reconfigure the hard drive and the CD or DVD drive to be on separate IDE cables, if possible. It may be necessary to change the drive jumpers when reconfiguring the drives. Some CD and DVD drives do not function correctly when set as Slave on the primary controller.

Try the drive in another computer.

If the drive fails in another system, the drive is defective.
If the drive works in another system, the cable or system board is defective.

Try another drive in this computer.

If the drive fails in this system, the cable or system board is defective.

You can try and unplug your drive cables and then put them back and make sure they are seated tightly, or take the drive out or your computer and see if it works in another computer.
