I am getting 3 new games for my birthday next week and want a driving game, I am getting FIFA Street 2 and GTA: Liberty City Stories but feel like a driving game.
However I don't know what game to get, Gran Turismo is out at the end of the month over here but I need something to play on until then.
Oh an American users, is SOCOM any good? Its not out yet over here and I'm a big fan of the series.

Burnout Legends is probably one of the best racing games for psp. Best 40 bucks I spent on ebay.

I'm not a fan of burnout really but I might give it a try, anyone play F1 Grand Prix or Midnight club on the PSP? Its just I enjoy them on the PS2 and wonder if they have converted well.

Need for speed MOST WANTED is a great game, but if you want a proper 'driving' game on your PSP, go for Formula 1. (until Gran Turismo of course)
The driving experience is great and the tracks are up to F1 spec with a full calendar.
If you want to smash your way through races and have a bit of fun while you race, Burnout is definately the way to go, lots of different event's including the 'crash' mode ...... great.

NFS Underground Rivals is the most like a Touring Game like Gran Turismo, it has the best customizations, but is pretty arcadey. With no story at all and limited tracks it does get boring after a while. Most Wanted is good but it's no where near as good as the console version. On the console's the cop chasing are thrilling. They are just annoying as hell on PSP. Rigde Racer may be my favorite just because it's graphics are so nice and it's best version of the game I've played.

I think pursuit force comes out this month,
its not really a raceing game but you do race a lot in it it looks like its going to be ok,
I think PSP would be 5 times better if there was another analog stick.
I'm a huge socom 3 fan, and I dont like it at all on the PSP.

Yeah with Ridge Racer you love it or hate it. It's pretty much the same driving still since PS1 and I'm use to it except they added Nitrous for PSP and it works well IMO. They should have just taken the cops out of Most Wanted if they couldn't do it like the consoles.

I'm with the original poster. I'm not a big fan of Burnout. It's not what I want in a racing game, but I can see why other people would like it. For me it's it's cool to play once in a while when I am in the mood for that type of thing. I could be wrong, but it seems those under 21 are more likely to Burnout.
