MSI DR16-B2 ( nero verify error)

I have a MSI - DR16 B2 dvd rewriter. when verifying the burn using nero 7 i get 'sector xxx on disc has content different to source errors'.

the problem is that i have burned DVDs with my drive connected to my friend's PC without any errors, but when burning it on my PC i get these errors and most of the time the errors are at similar intervals. For example I never got an error before the 1 GB stage and after that they continue at similar intervals(across different discs). i get an avg of 7 of these errors per disc.

i have tried the following:

ran memtest86 with no errors
upgraded the firmware to latest version.

system is AMD 2600+ and ASUS A7N8X- VM400
media is LG and the burn speed is 8x.
