This is probably a totally noob problem - but I'll take the joking !

I am using OEM Nero latest version 6.6.1.4. I get a problem with Nero in that it fails to

I have upgraded to the latest firmware provided by by dvd-R company (Samsung). Now I
am at a complete loss :( Any advice to help a newbie on his way?

Thanks for any help you can give.
Will

Other minor niggles:
I used dvd decoder and then dvdshrink to get dvd files (that i can view) on my computer.
The link between dvdshrink and Nero failed. I am therefore trying to burn the files put on
my hard drive by dvdshrink usign nero. After looking around, I used the Nero express
rather than the make a DVD from the drop down menu. I have set the process up to run
again and it seems to be progressing (fingers crossed). Anyway, I thought it might be
worth leaving this post in case there is anything people can learn from by noobi-dom.

I did read a lot of posts but haven't found anything relevant to my situation - hence this
post.

Thanks for any help you guys can give
Will

You have InCD installed, when you update your Nero do not include InCD.

Many thanks for the advice. I will roll back my Nero and remove InCD. I did manage to get a backup made last night which plays on my computer but not on a normal DVD player. I have seen threads for this so will check out them as well.
Thanks again

You will find that some players preferr the +R format, some -R format but the most compatable format is DVD-ROM.

This is done by a process called booktyping, using DVD+R media.

Heres a link to tell you a little about it.

Thanks for the tip. I am not sure what tab to use in the book coding. I have a samsung SHW-162 and can't find what tab to use. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet but will try it this evening.

Thanks again for all the tips!
