ok when i try to decrypt a dvd on ifo mode and choose no file splitting, because i want to run it through videora ipod converter, i get a message saying it "cannot send to my documents the says Reason: there is not enough space on disk" when on my harddrive i have 180 gb of space. some 1 plz help me

try creating a folder on your root drive C: and send it there

i have both external hd and my reg hd i created a folder directly on the C: drive and still says same thing but i also found out that when i change the file splitting from none to auto it decrypts fine, although there is 2 files and i just want 1 file and not a split movie, is there any software that will combine both? or a way to fix my problem?

are your drives fat32 our ntfs right click on your drive and check properties ?
what is you operating system ?

well i am on windows xp and i did properties and says FAT32 as the file system

ok that is your pwoblem fat 32 drive cant handle files larger than 4gb
you will have to convert one of your drive to ntfs in order to work with files of 4gb or larger have a read of this

if i do convert to NTFS what else will it have any side affects? or is it just another drive type and wont affect anything major?

first if you are dual boot system ie running both xp and linux or 98 dont convert or using a machine with a recovery partion consult the computer service manual or company first
converting your c drive has some risks make sure you back up your data first if it is succesful you wont really notice any difference except in the area of larger files
look into re formating your external as an option some support it some dont
if you dont have a great deal of data on your system then why not reinstall xp only this time format to ntfs there is nothing like a clean install to get the bugs out

im just pure xp so dont have to worry about that i recently put my comp back to default settings and started new and fresh but all my stuff is on my external should i do the conversion on the external too? but to reinstall xp on the comp i dont have a disk to do it but to reset to factory defaults its a program on it that does it

it sounds like you have a recovery partition on your hdd its a hidden partion with a mirror image of your os consult the manufacturer of your system before proceding otherwise you could end up with no windows install program
but you may be still able reformat your external and use that to handle the large files check out the manufactures site for info on that

I'm no computer guru...but I don't think a 'Fat32' disk drive has anything to do with this problem.
I have an 80 gig hard drive, with a FAT32 system, and have never run into a problem with files over 4 gig's.
I think you need to look at other issue's to solve this problem.

i have converted alot of files with the same set up with fat32 but its just now that its been acting up and not working and i have tried DVD Shrink and downloading torrents too and the same problem with the space and i have 180 gb hd with a 120 gb external drive and ive tried sending to external too and still no luck

Please check your facts before giving advise it is physicly impossible for a fat 32 drive to accept single files in excess of 4gb
you may have been able to do movies using fat 32 but that is because they are cut up into 1gb chunks Large Torrent downloads are ussualy cut up into a series of smaller rar files

Sorry, Like I said I'm no computer guru, it looks the difference is the operating system i'm running windows 98se, and no need to do anything with the fat32 file system, I guess this is more specific to the winxp o/s.

no it is specific to all os's running fat drives keep it in mind for the future if you try to handle a single file (not a folder) larger than 4gb you will be unsuccesful

Philraz,
Sorry to have changed the 'topic' on this thread, but would an 'ISO' file of 7.3 gig be considered one file? because if that qualify's as a single file then i have handles that and a whole lot bigger, and never had a problem with all my 7 computers running win 98se.

if you have a single file of 7.3gb stored on a fat 32 drive then you've got me beat because in 25 years of repairing computers and 4 years at uni I've never seen it and always thought it to be impossible

Yes I have never seen it either. Maybe since its one file your getting away with it. Cause a reg dvd is divided into several smaller VOB and ifo files. But I have never seen that either and its a anomaly. Guess ya found a loop hole with the os. Maybe yeah should call Bill Gates and go work for him. Cause their is no way in hell possible to do that. I got a fat 32 storage drive and it wont handle over 4 gigs in file....

i think i will jsut do the auto for the file splitting on ifo mode it seems to do fine i just decrypted a movie it did alot of it, but 2 files, but the main big file was basically the whole movie and the second file is the last 8 mins of it. then i did another movie then it was 1 file and that did fine so i really dont know what to do lol but, how do i get a screenshot of what i am seeing so i can be a bit more detailed and have a visual for u guys?

Put a mouse pointer on the image
. Hit alt and printscreen key at the same time. Then open microsick paint and hit ctrl+v to paste in paint. Then go to file and click save as. Ah shit Im giving away all my secrets...:>

thanks so much for all of your imput, i was a bit hesitant in formatting to NTFS but i went ahead and did it, it worked :D, i havnt had a chance to test it out on decrypter but im sure planning on it, ty all your the best
