I've been using DVD Shrink for about a year now with Nero, with relatively no problems, but the last couple of days, when I try to back up a disc, I'm having issues.

DVD Shrink seems to do it's job creating the files, but then instead of getting a window asking me to insert a blank disc, I get this message:

***nero s/n removed***

Now, the weird thing is that my DMA *is active. I don't know why the message says that it's not. Any thoughts?

Your Nero is too new, 6.6.1.4 has yet to have the wrinkles ironed out of it, revert back to the last known working version, 6.6.0.18.

First use the clean tool: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/General_Clean_Tool.html

Then reinstall version 6.6.0.18:

http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Couldn't find a firmware update on RPC1.

Enable DMA via this guide courtesy of alkohol: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

Post a complete log for further review.

Okay....so I may have been a little off. On my secondary channel device one has a current trasfer mode of PIO, so I followed the instructions to get that changed to DMA.......and, nothing. So, I removed the burner thinking that would do the trick for sure, and still nothing. Any ideas?

I did change my version of Nero to the recommended one though.

Well, everything seems to be working now. Must've been either Nero or the drive! Thanks for the help!
