Hello,
I really could do with your help, I have spent the last 2 days trying to change the ripped files from .vob to mpeg. Is this possible or not.I have used the software DVD Shrink, DVD Decripter I have also tried to use smartripper 241 ( with no luck ripping ).
I have been told that DVD Decripter will do it but I cannot seem to find how to save it as a .MPEG. Any Help would be very much appreicated.

I came across a program that might do what you are looking for. It is called "Super DVD Ripper" - http://www.dvdtodivx.net/ - With this program you can rip a DVD and convert it into SVCD, VCD or AVI. You can also convert "VOB" into SVCD, VCD or AVI. Hope this helps -Robert

...you might try this progam too: Flash DVD Ripper. I have not tried it, but it looks like it will do what you are looking to do (VOB to MPEG). I don't believe that Super DVD Ripper (that I mentioned before) does what you are looking for... it usually covers what I need to do... but somehow VOB to MPEG was left out.

The VOB File is already an MPEG File... All you have to do is rename the .VOB file to .mpg... Use a program like TMPGEnc w/ mpeg2 support to join or cut the mpeg.

Thank you to all who helped,
I have been busy working with everything you suggested.Found Flash DVD Ripper to be the best and easiest to work with and when used with DVD Shrink 3.2 I was moving along even faster .As to what I was doing I was creating a little movie for my dad for his birthday of all his favourite shows and movies. I do not have a dvd burner so need him to be able to view it on my home computer.It has turned out really well and still have many shows to go.
