Thanks for the help from the likes of docTY, ashj and others, for helping me choose what disc to go for from svp. I went for the Panasonic TY?s and so far so good.
I?ve already tried a couple of my ps2 backups on these discs and they seem to run much smoother than the ones I had already.
I know others were thinking of buying these Panasonic discs, mainly because the Verbatim TY?s are out of stock at svp.co.uk, but many weren?t sure what they were like (can be hard to get hold of according to others).
Anyway I?ll post info about the discs below which will give others a good idea about what they?re getting if they?re not sure. Unfortunately I can?t do a PI/PO scan because my drive doesn?t support it.
Disc = Panasonic Printable 8x DVD-R 4.7GB
Inner Hub Code on Disc = GG000123 (I believe this means they're genuine)
Here?s what the front of the box looks like. Notice it says ?Made in Japan? :
Some technical info here, not really sure what some of it means, but I?m almost certain that these discs are genuine TY :
And here?s the complete Media Code
Hope it clears up a few things for those who are thinking of buying these discs. The more I use these discs the better idea I'll have as to how good they really are, but at the moment they seem very good quality to me. My first order through SVP.co.uk was great too. Very quick delivery.

@dabig - I got them from http://svp.co.uk
I'm from the UK though, not sure about anywhere else.
I believe they're quite hard to find in some other countries.

For the people in the U.S., they can go onto the Panasonic website. The sample in the pic shows "Made in Japan" on the box.
