...but I'm stumped.

I've got a modded PS2 with a DMS4 modchip. Am happy with it and it's played all back ups fine so far. There's just one problem. The NTSC games look fine on the TV, but the picture on the pc monitor through the TV card is terrible. As I wanted to do some recording from a couple of these games, this is annoying.

The TV card is Leadtek Winfast TV2000 Expert and, yes, I've changed the video setting to NTSC. I don't understand why the picture would be so bad. Going to Leadtek's website proved less than helpful, btw.

Can I boot up the games in PAL mode from the modchip I've got?

I'd rather just get a proper picture in NTSC mode, though, than go back to the **** slow speed that is PAL.

Yes, I have, and, as ever with obscure problems that nobody else ever seems to have except me, nothing of relevance comes up.

Personally, the day when the world has a universal TV/video standard can't come soon enough for me. This business of PAL and NTSC just causes never-ending problems.
