Im looking for a CD/DVD labeling software that will work in conjunction with my Epson R320 printer to print nice quality labels on my DVD's or CD's.
The problem Im having with the software that came with the printer, is that I keep getting a 1/2 inch or so spot around the center of the disc that is not getting printed.
Messing around with the included software, Im not able to find any way of getting it to print any closer to the center.
Just basically wondering what kind of software the pros are using to print on there blank media.

I dont have a problem I have the R200 you can adjust the inner print peramerters this will solve the problem. Also remember if you are scanning the the dvd disk and using that image if the hub is wide in order to get it just like the dvd disk your blank media must have a wide hub if the disk have a small hub then your blank media must have a small hub. I buy TY dvd media with the wide and small hub for this reason.

Got a private message by sytyguy and I thought I would share it with anyone else who may stumble across this thread.
This is in reference to the CD COver Print Software included with the Epson r320 printer.
1.Select File, then select inner/outer diameter settings
2.Check Custom CD
3.Inner diameter set to 23 mm
4.Outer diameter set to 118 mm
5.Save settings
6.Turn your printer off and then back on - job done
When you go to print, select Import, then select Picture, and locate where you saved your cover to print. Then you need to drag the picture (CD cover) to the circle by selecting the outer four points individually. You will then get an error message, just select ok, and off you go.
Following the instructions given, I now have a perfect edge to edge print on my disc.

I have the r200 I use the acoustica cd label maker and it works great. I get all my covers from cc covers and have people tell me all the time that my dvds look like the real thing.

i have the software that came with my IP4000 and to do what you required i actually had to make a new template so that portion of the disc which would come out white would be colored in when you do the print............very similar to what sytyguy has suggested for you

I also have the Epsom Stylus Photo R200 which is what i think zildjian is talking about, and I can print no problem on all over it but everytime i try to print on a DVD or CD which are printables the ink does not dry on it and it never works for me, I tried a few times and every time the ink just tsits on the media as if it were too oily or something. Does anyone know what Im doing wrong?

those measurements all depend of what type of disk you have,as not all printable disks have the same internal measurements

I've been using the R300 with the Epson Print CD-DVD software and I've never had any problems with alignments at all. Yes, it is true that not all "printable media" are the same, so you'll have to either go up or down a bit with the "inner & outer" diameter.
Below is(are) my settings for my R300 Inkjet Printer:
119 for outer diameter
21 for inner diameter
0.2m to the Left for "adjust position"
Quality Option: Best Photo
Print Options: PhotoEnhance
Orientation: Portrait
Perfect copy, awesome quality and it looks nearly 99% professionally.

The "disks" i refered to are some DVD and CD I bought in Best Buy which i supposedly for printing and the "ink" i refered to is the ink from the printer. I have the R200 Epson and it has a small tray that comes with it that is supposed to be used for the DVD/CD but after i print on them the ink does not dry on top of the DVD/DC.

What brands of media did you used? I only used the Silver Inkjet printable & White Hub printable from genuine Taiyo Yuden and the Hitachi Maxell (MIJ) White Hub printable. All of my backups dried up within 3 - 5 minutes.
Maybe it's the disc (printable) media that you're using. I doubt it's the ink from the Epson.

I use the Tayo Uden(sorry about the spelling) and they print great with my epson...once it prints i just pull the tray out and let it sit for about 2 mins no prob...only issue I have had is if you get any kind of liquid close to the disk it will smear...

The DVDs I use are Verbatim Lightscribe, which I thought maybe a good quality brand. The CD are a cheap kind, Memorex printable CD-R.
Where did you get these Silver Inkjet printable & White Hub printable from genuine Taiyo Yuden and the Hitachi Maxell (MIJ) White Hub printable?

i get all my disks from svp (uk site),i can honestly say that when printed on,they are dry almost immediately.
make sure the settings on the printer are correct

You're getting and printing on the wrong media there. You can not use any of the Epson R Series (R200, R300, R320, etc.) with LightScribe media. All of the R Series will work with any printable media (i.e. Silver Inkjet, White Inkjet Hub, etc.)
As for LightScribe media, you'll need a BenQ or others that support LightScribe printing do handle the job properly.
I got my Hitachi Maxell "High Grade" (MIJ) White Hub Inkjet printable from my local Wal-Mart. As for the YUDENs, I got all of my Taiyo Yuden printable media from "supermediastore", here http://www.supermediastore.com/dvd-plus-r-media-printable.html
Good luck!! Remember, don't buy LightScribe media UNLESS you have a burner that support LightScribe technology.

I have the Epson R200 and Canon IP3000,IP4OOO and for printing on disc ive found the Discus software to be the best.Adjustments are so much easier to make with Discus compared to Epson and Canon print software.

the only problem i have encountered with the IP4000 is if you over print like 3-5 thousand discs make sure you do this in the warranty period you will need to get another print head.They cost nothing if under warranty or $131.00 out of warranty

I buy brand new Canon print heads for $49.00 for both the IP3000 AND IP4000 from a dealer on Ebay.Sometimes ive found the complete printer including printhead on Ebay for less than that though so i have a few spares.

Australian or not is still quite stiff for a printer head, then again I dont know much about the Canon IP3000,IP4OOO. Are they good printers for disks?

actually they are very good.The quality is pretty good and the first time i used it i got about 357 discs done per 5 ink cartridges
