Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding the IMGBURN freeware.
I understand this is the updated version of DVD Decrypter.

In the past, after the Shrink done its job, it will automatically
go to DVD Decrypter to write the dvd.

If I download the IMGBURN, how could I let shrink to
know to write image to IMGBURN not DVD Decrypter?

TIA

Here is a guide that will explain how to get ImgBurn to automatically run with Shrink.

Thanks arniebear for your quick reply.

The link you provided to me mentioned about PSL2 wizard.
Could you tell me what is that mean?

TIA

Here is a read on the plugin, it has an installer and you can use to create PSL files for Decrypter that will break the new encryption and there will be no need for AnyDVD. I have not tried it but I hear it works well.

Hi arniebear,

Thanks your reply. I didn't install the PSL2 plugin.
I guess I could just follow the installation guide to
install the IMGBURN so that SHRINK will automatically
to write to IMGBURN.

Have you use the IMGBURN? any feedback.

Thanks

Yes I have used ImgBurn and it is just like Decrypter only updated with more support for dual layer burning, which is what I use it for. I usually do not do iso format because I prefer to use Nero Recode for smaller compression and for larger compressed movies I use DVD Rebuilder and then Nero to burn. But ImgBurn is an excellent program and supports booktype and you can control burn speed, you will like it.

Hi arniebear,

Thanks your comments.
Could I control the DVD Shrink to use either DVD Decrypter
or IMGBURN to write the dvd as my choice.

In other words, without changing the DVD Decrypter file to IMGBURN,
could I just download the IMGBURN as new program?
if so, how could I use shrink to write it.

TIA

Anthony

Yes you can use ImgBurn as a separate program and not change a thing in Shrink. I use it this way. If you want to use ImgBurn then you can create your iso file with Shrink output to your HDD and then open ImgBurn manually and burn or just leave it and autoburn with Decrypter as usual. Your choice.

Thanks arniebear,

I would like to keep the shrink program and automatically
write to DVD Decrypter like the good old days.

I also like to have IMGBURN as a separately program so that
I could have extra write program in case I need it if
Decrypter not doing his things right.

Without changing the Shrink program which is auto write
to DVD Decrypter. How can I ask shrink to write to IMGBURN,
What setting do I have to change in Shink in order for
shrink to write to IMGBURN?

Please do slow on the instruction if you can as I still
in the learning stage of this technoligy.

TIA

When you hit your backup button just make sure you have your select backup target set to iso to HDD

This will put the file on your HDD and then you can choose if you want to burn with ImgBurn

Hi arniebear,

Thanks your lighting fast reply. You just made my day
of the instruction given to me.

I can't express more enough of the help you have given
to me and other members who have followed this thread.

Now I have gathered all these information for the
dual layer venture. I couldn't wait to see the price
of this DL coming down to around $1.00 a piece (may
be by the summmer, do you think the same?)

Keep up with the good works.

You are welcome, yes hopefully the dl media will come down in price it has been dropping little by little. You can now pick up a 10 pack of Verbatim for 20.00 when on sale, which just six months ago was double. Good luck to you :)

newbie to reuse it if any reason the disk not
come up right in the early learning stage.

I do not believe it is available as of yet, but I know that it is coming sometime this year. The only article I have seen is on JVC having it, but do not know how long it will be before it is available in the States. They get a lot of stuff overseas that you cannot get here. Would love to get my hands on some Plextor media, it is supposed to be fantastic, but it is not available here that I can find.

Hi arniebear,

question just came up.

For dl burning

If I use dvd fab to rip the Sony disk, then use shrink
(change to dvd9) then use the Imgburn to write, how
much giga bite do I need to do it?

TIA

Minimum of 15g and that is conservative. If you are doing a movie that does not have the newer protection then you can still use Decrypter to rip in iso mode and then just do and iso write with Decrypter or ImgBurn. In fact you might still try Decrypter in iso read mode it may work, I have used this method for some ARccOS movies as long as they do not have puppetlock on them. Used it for Dark Waters and Decrypter did rip in iso mode fine.

@arniebear

I too tried Decrypter in ISO read and Write Mode to do Dual Layer 1:1 Backup of Potter and Goblet of Fire. It froze at the layer break. It was my 1st attempt with decrypter. Yesterday I used Copy DVD Nero Express on the fly and the copy passed the layer break with no problems, gonna watch disc tonite.

@garmoon

Good to hear your backup worked with Nero, I did not get a good backup the two times I used the program, but I did not use Express. I have had good results with Decrypter, ImgBurn, CopyToDVD and Blindwrite by VSO, and CloneDVD doing dual layers.

@arniebear
The Nero copy plays perfectly on Pc and stand alone Daewo, and Toshiba DVD players. The Toshiba combo TV and DVD player won't recognize the disc. It's the newest player of the bunch. It's aDL DVD+R. It has no problem with 4.7G DVD+R discs. All booktyped to DVD-ROM.
