ok my ps2 some time it will load fine play for a hr or 2 (most i usally play) then some days it will lockup at the first splash screen or not load anything at all just a blank screen no sound could this be my powersupply going out? if so i can change it if no what else could it be?

i have added a set of 3 mini fans aka hd coolers to the front blowing into the grill/across the psu and a 80 mm in the back hooked to a spare atx psu it just shortens the time it takes between lock ups and playing right and extends game play a little

Does it have a mod chip? If so which one? It doesnt sound like a over heating issue, with all those fans you added that should have resolved any over heating problem. Does this happen with all games or just a few or one?

ok no modchip hence why i use the mem card exploit and as of now all my hd games do it like balck will load to the first few screens then when it is loading the credits it freezes i power down and restart and i get a black screen all my hd games do this i use the pgen emulator i can play on it for about 10 mins and it locks up too same effect if i turn it off in the back wait 5 mins power back up it either loads up to the exploit screen or the first splash screen of the ps2 the blue boxes that move but the boxes have like pink and green in them too and it freezes there i turn it off in the back for 10+ i can start the game again with the same effect yea when i first did the fans 2 days ago it worked great i played for a couple hrs no prob but its just getting worse dont want to have to buy a new ps2 if its only the 20$ psu let me know what you think

So this only happens with your exploit and games from your HDD? Does it do this when you are playing original games on disc?

ok i tried a couple games mlb slugfest 2003 and ddr extreme 2 both orginals and it freezes them too reset and it freezes on the splash screen

Try removing the HDD and network adapter and boot your originals from disc and see what happens.

Well try putting the NA in with out the HDD this will tell you what the problem is. If you get no errors with just the NA you know its the HDD. If you get errors with the NA and no HDD you know its the NA.

ok removed hdd and seems to be running fine but how would the hdd be bad and still be ok in the computer and winhiip did a scan and it was fine there too you think if i did a reformat and tried again it would be ok? when i installed the games one dident work and so i used hdloader to delete it when i put the hdd back in my computer it hdl dump said there was a problem and so did winhiip but winhiip said it could be repaired it did and then all my games where gone so i used hdl-dump to put the games back on the hdd could this be the problem or is it somthing more serious with the hdd i know the hdd is old but worked fine for my main drive in my computer

I dont know man. Sounds strange. You could try reformatting it with winhiip and see if that fixes it. Just make sure you use the most resent release of winhiip. http://winhiip.ps2hd.com

well ty one last question i use winhiip to format but it locks up if i use it to put images on the hdd so i use hdl dump to put the images on the hdd could this be a problem?

I cant say for sure, but it sounds strnage that its locking up with winhiip. If you can test it with a differnt HDD I would recommend that.

ok haveing the prbolem again let see last night i was gonna play jepordy off my usb thumb drive a gensis rom using pgen on my memcard and it locked up now before this yesterday i took the harddrive out formated it and put some games on it put it back in and played black for like 2 hours no problems at all so i just turned off the ps2 last night when pgen locked up today i took out the harddrive and net adapter put in a orginal disk slugfest 2003 and it is still locking up reset and it does the ps2 flash screen with the green and pink or a blank screen i turn it off for 10 mins or so it loads to the first few screens of slugfest and tthen locks up wtf is up??
