Okay here is the problem i am having. My first copy of dvd shrink
with anydvd works great flawless back up.Then if i try to make a back up of that copy with say either "Alcohol 120%" and "Dvd shrink"
again i get blocks in non random parts of the movie also audio loss
with the backs ups from the first one i copied. It may be a "backup"
of a "backup" problem.I have tried different media slower speeds.
I am using "Dvd shrink ver. 3.2.0.15" and "Anydvd ver 5.9.4.1".And
also i am using a "Samsung TS-H552U 16x burner"
So if anyone else has had this problem and solved it, please let me know what you did to fix it.
Sometimes reading a copy is a problem, especially if you are trying to read it with a burner.
You should not need to use Shrink on the copy. The copied movie is unencrypted and does not need additional compression.
If you do copy the copy, watch the movie with your media player before burning and see if the problem is there. That will tell you if it is a problem reading the copy. If there is not a problem at this point, then the problem lies with the media or burn set-up you are using.
I'd make an ISO of the copy rather than video files and then use Imgburn to burn with.
I have found out that the problem is with AnyDVD and an option that you should not have checked. On the FEATURE REMOVAL section of AnyDVD make sure you do not have the COPY PROTECTION BASED ON UNREADABLE SECTORS checked or else it will screw up your backup if you plan on making a backup of a backup.I had several problems and didn't know where the problem was coming from until I unchecked that feature I just mentioned.Hope this helps.
this is why i let the true rippers do what they do best(ripp) and the transcoders to the compressing. shrink can't rip from the disc as well as decrypter or fabdecrypter. i'm not saying that this is the cause of your problem but, compressors's do better when using already ripped files.

Okay thank you i will try this, I thought it was my burner at first.
But it still makes me wonder if it is my burner as i get the same results with "Alcohol 120" making a iso as you suggested also.
Maybe it is a combination of my burner and a setting as you stated i will try it .Also as a side note the main reason is i stopped with alcohol 120 and went to using dvdshrink was the fact that alcohol 120 even after the disc has been stripped of all protection acohol 120 gets alot of read errors, i just got the latest alcohol 120 % now version 1.9.5.3823 and see what happens.
This thread got me curious since I only backup originals. I backed up an original movie with AnyDVD 5.9.4.1. Then I copied the backup using some disposable media (CMC MAG), while AnyDVD was still running. I had no problems whatsoever.
I used Nero to make the copy of the backup and did not do anything special. The movie plays fine, audio is in synch, and no artifacts are present.
Yea seems i am having a string of bad luck. Also have you seen anything else like this , i can play a burnt dvd backup in the home dvd player. First time it plays great no pixelation (i don't know if this is the correct term maybe called block's)and audio is fine next time i play it it breaks up and distorts tried another player same thing , i thought maybe need to try slower burning and maybe get a more better dye burn on the blank media
