O.k. I was telling a friend at work about this website and all the different ways I'm learning to burn movies ex.dvd fab and vob blanker, never heard of htem until I came here. Anyway hes telling me I'm doing to much work and that he has a program called dvd x copy platinum that encodes,rips,shrinks, and burns the movie all in 2 clicks. Any of you movie burning guru's famailiar with this program.

VOBB does things that Xcopy won't do. And makes for a better backup. I'm not sure but I think xcopy stopped updating, but there is a really good chance I'm wrong on that one. But if I'm not then it won't handle some new movies. And it's not a free program, unlike everything you just mentioned.

Thanks that is what I was thinking but he said he never had problems even with the newer movies but I find that hard to believe since its not updating. Thanks again I'll stick to what you guys recommend, you havent steered me wrong yet. lol

Out of curiosity, can DVD X Copy Platinum rip and backup The Fog, The Cave, Valiant, Madagascar, Stealth, Zathura, LEGEND OF ZORRO, FlightPlan, Dark Water, Red Eye, The Great Raid, Brothers Grimm, Four Brothers, Weatherman, etc.?

Is your friend a guru in query to dvd ripping & backing up by chance? If so, then he should have known by now that DVDFAB Decrypter is the BEST ripper at the moment, not only the best but FREE.

VobBlanker, on the other hand, is one of the most powerful free tool that can process and fix/correct any left over (unremovable encrypted junks) dummy cells, bad sectors or invalid data structures, etc. flawlessly within 5 minutes (if you set your OUTPUT folder into a different hard drive/location).

I didnt ask him any specific movies but asked if that program would back up the new releases since those have been giving people a lot of trouble and he said yes. I dont think hes a guru like you guys since he couldnt explain much about the program in detail other than it was 1 program that did it all. I was trying to explain your method of dvd fab and VOB blanker as best I could but he insisted his was better so I left it at that. Since learning your method I'm definatley sticking with what works although I'm still learning the ins and outs of VOB balnker but can do the standard burn like your diagram shows. thanks

For the amount of money Xcopy charges for its programs you can use the free ones or even buy AnyDVD and CloneDVD and still save. Stick with the programs you are using and keep your bucks. You will get just a good a quality or better.

Well Xcopy is back but it's now called neXt copy. It's supposed to handle the newer ones - I know it can do flightplan but is this the ones your friends is talking about?
A lot of members on aD started with X Copy - myself included but I stopped using it about 2 years ago. Pass on the new version unless you want to shell out $100 - if you want to pay your better off w/ AnyDVD & CloneDVD - more functionality than the new version.
As alkohol pointed out fabdecrypter and vobblanker - free and powerful. Plus vobblanker does so much more than remove and get rid of junk files!

DVDneXtCopy is overpriced and after trying it I must say the quality is not good, and it overcompresses. Save your money and go with the tried and true.

No he must have the old version he kept saying dvd x copy platinum but I'm sticking with methods from in here I just wanted to be sure I wasnt missing anything but I shouldve figured cause if it was that great it wouldve been mentioned here I'm sure. thanks
