Does anyone else have trouble getting a DVD to rip in a sensible time? Average for a 2 hour movie is about 8 hours. Surely this cannot be right? Ripping from DVD disc to AVI. Any ideas if there is a faster way?

i think you wont rally get anu better as your processor is reasonalby slow, i get better times as my processor is a P4 3.2gig chip

A700meg file with DivX to dvd and with this chipset is about 1hour to encode and 20 mins ro burn

maybe somthing wrong with your conversion software
turn to Super DVD to iPod Converter for a try
its conversion speed is excellent
you can download free from here
