I've noticed that there are a lot of messages cautioning people to not post their serial numbers. I'm having trouble burning a DVD and would like to post the error log. What should I look for in the log? What else can't be posted.

TIA

It's best just to post the last log if using Nero. And remove the serial # - usually begins w/ 1A. Serial# is so no one else uses it -everything else in the log is fine. Logs are usually separated by this:
====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======

In addition to Illusenia's info...post the log in the Nero forum.

Logs are divided by ====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ====== so one whole log is basically spanning from one of those to another. Serial numbers also start with 1C

Here is my cut and paste thingy on nero log locations:

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt

These things record all burns, and we only need the last one. The burns are seperated by something like this
Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======

Windows XP 5.1
IA32-xxxx-xxxx-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

that was from a Nero 6 log, but 7 looks much like that. Underneath the divider is the operating system, and right below that is the begining of the serial number. When posting a log, just include the last burn log, and edit out your serial numbers by typing xxxx over them.
