Ok, i softmodded my xbox like most people here to have halo 2 mods. I got a video tutorial from a friend and that he amde himself and it worked for him. I followed everything he said to do and it worked. The mod does work greatly but i have an error 21 message everytime i try to sing on to XBL. I miss my XBL ALOT!! So can anyone help me in telling me how to get it back working again, or do i need to buy a new xbox or xbl subscription?

YOu can't sign on to live with your modded dash...you need to take off the dash first and then go to network settings and change it to Automatic

umm yes u can and i already tried taht but my dash wont revert, I amde sure i backed up everything but no luck.

No you can't sign on to live with your modded dash because it doesn't have Xbox live on it....trust me i know what i am doing and.......To revert to MS Dash you turn on your xbox with you disk tray open and then got to restore MS dash........

No, you need MS dash...........And you will still have your mods even if your remove the modded dash to the original.........
Remeber to only mod in custom games for fun.........

Here's what you do. Restore your MS DASH. Delete the linux files that are on your Xbox. Then follow this tutorial that I made: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/311710
It also shows how to get on XBL when you are done w/ it. I'm pretty sure you'll like it ;)

OK before i try that, are your sure i dont need a new EEPROM since im guessing im banned or anything. This isnt a normal occurence from what my friends tell me because it gives me the error 21 message everytime i try to sign in.

If you havent been banned from XBL yet on that Xbox, follow my tutorial and YOU WILL NOT get banned. I've already tested this softmod process out on 10 Xbox's...all of which have access to XBL no problem :D

I DONT KNOW IF IM BANNED!! Since i get an error 21 message everytime i try to sign on i dont know. Thats why im asking for help with that. ANd i try ot revert to the xbox dash and it says its not executeable or something.

If you've been getting error 21 everytime you try to log on Live, then you are not banned. Also, did you get all the XBL updates before you softmodded? If so, then don't worry about anything. Just restore your ms dash and follow the tutorial I provided you with.

Alright dude, what you need to do is restore your ms backup, k? Then when you do that, get on LIVE and when you get on live and if you dont have the updates, then it'll make you d/l them. Once you have the updates, follow the tutorial I posted about softmodding and you'll be happy w/ the results :D

Why dont you understand you freakin noob! I told you what you need to do and you still b!tchin about not getting on live! Stfu and read you illiterate P.O.S! Look, you have to restore your freakin xbox back to being unmodded. Then you can get on live ya nub. Get what ever freakin updates ya need if you need to update your dash. Then when you are ready to softmod again, read my tutorial and you'll be able to get on live.
