I have a dvd, and I don't know what programs are available to seperate all the songs from it, so I can copy just one song from the dvd. I have windvd7, but I can't see into where I can select just one video clip with the sound, and make that just one new file, so I can upload it and get it onto my web page-and I have the bands permission to do so Help me Please!!!!

download DVD Shrink (free program) this allows you to re-author a dvd & should do what you want. you will find various guide on here on how to use shrink. or post back & i can give you instructions.

are there many video files on this DVD or is it just one big file holding all the video clips? if it's one big file then Shrink won't do the trick for you!

Hello,

The menu shows on the dvd itself shows the song titles, the interviews with band members.

I can click to go to the next section if I want to skip a song or interview.

Does it sound like DVD Shrink will do the trick???

it's possible but not sure... all depends on DVD structuring.

Hello again,

From the DVD Shrink menu, which is encoding now, I'm hoping that will give me some more options here.

But it turns out it's one entire full movie, the only thing that I see that I could choose to get rid of are the menus, Title Menus, Unspecified, Menu 1, Menu 2,, Menu 3

Then,
Main Movie, title 2

Then, Extras, Title 1

This is all it shows.

Can anything be done with this program and this dvd???, If not, is there any other program that can break up the main movie, where I can select what I want????

The whole purpose behind this is to upload just one - three videos of my choice, upload just those into youtube, and place on my webpage.

Help?????

the only way i could think that it is possible to rip a paticular section of a video would be to convert to an AVI file then open in windows movie maker or similar program & edit out the bits you dont need.

i have never had to do what you want to do, and i rarely have to do things with AVI files so cannot offer very much wisdom :-) but this is one way that i can think of being able to do it.

if anyone has any other suggestions or methods i'm sure they can tell you.

Thank you for your input, if anyone can think of a way to do this, where I can get the instructions with it, which I save in my documents-I would greatly appreciate it. Right now this looks like it's not possible at all. *frowns and shrugs shoulders*
