Hey
if someone could point me in the right direction of what might be causing me problems.....please let me know
to start off with im using Verbatim 16 x dvd-r discs....im using thoses discs with a Sony Dru-710a.....and im using Dvd Shrink with that burner...and than using Nero to burn the files
NOW to the problem.....not all discs but enough to get on your nerves.....the movie will fully burn and ill come back to watch it on my dvd player on my tv at a later time and the movie is great as usual but toward the last chapters 1 maybe 2 and also the credits will begin to be choppy...meaning (frequently it will kinda freeze and ill miss what was said) this makes it very hard to finish a movie
BUT
If i am to take that dvd and use nero to copy that dvd to another disc it fixes the problem.....so that would mean its not the files
im using a computer with over 1 gig of ram.....plenty of hard disc space
thanks alot
hopefully that works...that choppy thing has had me in a bad mood lately....and your suggestion would explain why it only happens sometimes
Garmoon,
i dont know if i found the place to change the size in NERO
the only thing i found is the option - Enable DVD overburning maximum dvd size ______mb and the minimum you can put it to is 4488
but in DVD Shrink you can change the max size that the DVD Shrink makes the file.....should i change it to a custom size in DVD Shrink and put it to 4300...
or is there something im missing in nero
i would assume that you would have to change DVD Shrink to 4300 because thats the original file that has to be to size for Nero to be at 4300
pgavinski,
You are in the correct spot w/ Shrink. It will limit the output to 4300 and when Nero burn it it will not burn to close to the outer rim.. Just change it in Shrink and Nero will do what Shrink tells it to
@pgavinski
If you use neroRecode2 in the first window under the fit to target which is checked, a drop down box. Select custom and type in 4300 when the window opens.
Sorry, but limiting the size to 4300MB is BS. You should have no problems burning good discs right to 4500MB without issues. Done it many many times. I've burned some +R to 4600MB without problems, so IMO this is just working around the issue, not solving it.
burning further away from the edge of discs is indeed a very good idea. i myself only use top notch media now and still stay away from the very outer edge of discs (just so happens i stuck with 4300MB many 1000s of discs ago).
