Hi
I feel a bit of a spaz asking this on here.
I just got a PSP which has 1.52 firmware on it.
I have tried loading some backups but none of them are working.
I get fastloader working on it but then I get a 'the game could not be started message'??
Also, on many of the guides i see 'press X' on my one X just takes me back a step and it is 'O' that I need to press.
Am I doing something drastically wrong here.
Thanks
Lee

As far as i know mate backups only work on V1.5 so u might have to downgrade, there are guides on here to do this, just use search messages and u,ll find it.

the problem is that youre trying to load isos on a 1.52 psp.you need a 1.50 psp in order to load isos.in order to go from 1.52 to 1.50 what you need to do is first upgrade to 2.00 and then downgrade to 1.50.

download the 2.00 upgrade here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/downloads/EBOOT_2_0_US.zip
unzip it and place it in the UPDATE folder on your memory stick.if there isnt one then create one.make sure that you do it in ALL CAPITALS.then from your psp homescreen,go to the right to memory stick and click update and let it update.alternatively,if you have a umd game with the 2.00 update on it,use that instead.

then to downgrade to 1.50,follow these instructions PRECISELY. http://www.psp-hacks.com/psp-downgrade.php
make sure that you follow them EXACTLY because you can brick your psp if you do it wrong.

once your psp is 1.50,follow the instructions to use fastloader as you did before and your isos should load up fine.

p.s.the whole O rather than X thing is because you have a Japenese psp.on the Japenese psps,O is the enter button instead of X.no big deal.you can use a homebrew pregram to change the buttons round if youd prefer them the other way around but it really doesnt matter.

Hmmm I am now at ver 1.5 but have another prob.
In order for me to play backups I would need to have a UMD disk inserted (i think that this is right).
Problem is, I am in the UK and have a Jap/China version (1006) which means that the UMD disk i have is not being recognised.
Not sure what to do now to be honest. I could go out a purchase another game (I dont have any with me at the moment), would this work??

what UMD are you using? a movie? yeah, movies are region-coded.

games arent though so yes you could go out and buy a game and that would work.

OK
Let me see if I have this right in my head.
I currently want to run Spiderman 2 on my PSP (now v1.50) using Fastloader. The problem I am currently facing is that in order for it to work it needs to have a UMD disk inserted. I have one inserted but it is the wrong region.
I am going to go out later on a buy a cheap (hopefully, but unlikely) PSP game (EU version).
I am hoping that a) I will be able to play the game i have bought and b) Fastloader will show me some respect now that I have a correct UMD inserted.
I hope that this would work.

Ok got the games working now. Thanks for your help.
I have another question though.
There seems to be quite a lot of 'emulators' or whatever they are called ie Fastloader, Devhook etc.
Would I be correct in thinking that somes games can be played with one of these and other games need different ones or a combination of them?
If this is the case, is there a list of which games need whatever emulators? I have searched but cannot seem to find a definitive list.
Thanks
