I have been using various programs for backing up DVD's

For the 1st time I subscribed to a usenet service..

I D/L all the files - 74 rar files plus some others

I have the 3.6 gig ISO file

spent many many hours trying everything to get dvd shrink or DVD clone2 to open the file and make the final DVD-R..

I d'l quite a few programs - one that does a filesum and it is fine - others like UltraIso and ISO Busters

I can get this file into a typical 2 folders - one for audio and one for video

it does look like any other DVD but no luck in getting dvd fab decyptor or DVDEncryptor to reencode the file so that DVDClone2 can open the file..

am stumped..

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much..

DVD decrypter Mode,iso,write
And burn the image to disk.

Alternatively you can use IMGburn to burn the .iso
or alcohol 120% to mount the image to a virtual drive,
(if you want to examine the .iso before burning.)

Or you can use WINRAR to extact the files,
And then burn the Video folder as normal.

Thanks for replying..

I tried both methods:

I was able to generate an image file with DVD Decryptor but unable to burn it on a DVD-R..

What tool do I use to do this?

I converted the RAR files using WinRAR and they saved back to the original folder..

I can't again do the next step and get em on a DVD-R..

Thanks again..

First extract the .iso from the zipped files using WinRAR.

Once the file is in .iso format (fully extracted from the .rar files)
Then you can burn the .iso image.

Dvd decrypter, Alcohol 120%,Nero, imgburn

should all be able to burn the image.

Also under DVD Shrink select 'open disc image'.
And browse for the extracted .iso file.

Unless something is wrong the file.
(which is why you should backup movies yourself rather than download them,)
Beacuse you never know if something is wrong with the files.

Bingo!!

Thanks Jizmak!!

That worked like a charm..:)

guess the whole key is just to 'extract here' on the very 1st RAR file..

I really appreciate you helping me - hopefully anything else will go smoother from here on in..
