Dvdshrink vs. dvd clone

I have been using dvd shrink and wondered which do you feel is better program: dvdshrink or dvd clone?
I was reading somewhere and can find it; that dvdshrink places hidden cideo files on your harddrive. Is this true and how do I delete them?
also i was visiting the slysoft website and notice a new dvd clone: "mobile dvd clone". I only use my movies in dvd players either at home or in the car for the kids. can I or should I use the new dvd clone or stick with the regular one?

Shrink will leave analysis files on your computer they are just small files, but if you do a lot of backups can mount up. Go into My Computer/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Dvd Shrink and you will find the files and can delete them, all but the file that shows at 1K this is needed by Shrink.
CloneDVD Mobile is if you want to do movies and put them on your IPOD or other mobile device. If you are not using these devices you do not need it. Clone is fine for DVD backups.
As for quality I think Shrink has the edge, but Clone is more versatile in authoring, and it is much faster and not as CPU intensive as Shrink.

in a few words. clonedvd2 is faster, updates, better re-authoring capabilities and handles the new encryptions much better than shrink.
dvdshrink's quality output is much better so, although i have them both, i prefer shrink. of course, when speaking of transcoders, none beats Nero Recode2.
Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

That is AnyDVD that handles the encryptions, Clone does not rip as does Shrink. Shrink can still rip many movies on its own. Clone cannot unless it is provided an already ripped file or has AnyDVD in the background.

what does authoring mean?
So basically CloneDVD is faster, but dvdshrink has better quality?

Reauthoring means editing out what you want to keep or not keep. DVD Shrink will let you reauthor however it will not let you keep a functional menu, which is something that CloneDVD will let you do which is a plus if you want to split a disk and keep a functional menu on both disks. In order to keep a menu in Shrink you need to use Full Disk and then substitute still images for what you do not want. Shrink has better quality because you can use advanced analysis and Quality Enhancements to get a better backup.

@arniebear. sometimes when using Decrypter to hard drive shrink can't handle the files of some movies, clonedvd2 does.

in any case, i hardly use shrink, my way of doing most of my movies is: fabDecrypter/recode2/copytodvd. i have AnyDVD but, i almost never use it because i like to work from the hard drive intead of from the disc.

I just tried Jarhead and Shrink would not complete with AnyDVD in the background. I have dvdfab decryptor and tried using that and then run thru shrink. shrink said the files were not supported. obviously dvdfab does not shrink to fit on a single layer. Is there another program I can use after I save this file to my hard driveusing dvdfab? many seem to like this program.

it would not be fair to compare RB to any transcoder, RB in combination with any encoder can't be beaten by any transcoder.
