Had nero burning rom 6 was working great until i restarted my comp yest. after that nero takes a long time to load and if/when it finally loaded it did not always work. I upgraded to nero premium 7 w/ burning rom 7 and am still having the same problem. It takes approx. 10 minutes to go from the burning rom menu screen (which actually loads fairly quickly) to the file selection screen (after you enter your parameters for the burn and press new). Can anyone help me solve this issue. I am somewhat of a newb to this but not completely and have tried all i know in my repetoire.

Did you try to do a System Restore to back before you started having difficulties? Did you uninstall 6 before you put in 7? Upgrading over 6 might not have gotten rid of the problem. Uninstall Nero and then use the Nero Clean Tool to make sure you got rid of everything and then reinstall.

it actually uninstalled Nero 6 automatically when i installed Nero 7. Does that make a difference or should i try completely uninstalling it myself?

It sounds like some kind of corrupted file, Nero should not take that long to load. Try a clean install after using the Clean Tool that way you are sure all the files are gone.

A clean tool is like a better un-install. This thing goes out and removes all traces of the old version of nero, actually any version. They have a version 6 and 7 cleantool, and you may as well use the one for the version you are removing. We use a clean tool as a way of getting a fresh install of the latest version. I directed you to the general page. They have a general cleaner, and a more thorough registry/driver cleaner, but i would suggest using the general one.
This is for version 6.
http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html
and this is for 7.
http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html if you had 7 installed use that last one. Be sure to write down your serial numbers before you use this.
Then download one of the nero versions and put your serial numbers back in after the thing boots up.
http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe This should fix your problem as it sounds like you had a corrupted install as arniebear said.

Ok i have used the clean tool but i have another question perhaps not exactly related to Nero. My comp is taking a considerably long time to reboot. A full reboot takes about 15 min. is there something perhaps "clogging" up the comp or sumthin i can do to clean up my comp a bit to get it running a lil smoother?

There is something going on with your computer it should not be running that slow unless you have some really low computer specs and are running a lot of processes. Try doing a disk cleanup and defrag, you may have some spyware on the computer that is causing this. DL a regcleaner, I use Crap Cleaner...CCleaner you can get it here then defrag.

What are you computer specs, and what programs are you loading up at startup? Slow running computers are usually caused by spyware/malware, a virus, you need defrag, too many processes on load, low ram or insufficient resources.
