AVI to MPG/DVD?

Hey peeps,

Does anyone know any free programs that i can use to convert my avi files to MPEG2 please? Im looking were i can convert my files without having watermarks all over them please????

Also what is the better option for me to use, i have AVI files should i convert them to MPEG/DVD or other??? I want to burn themk onto DVD-R and watch them on my DVD player?

Hope you can help me please

I don't use VSO but it will do what you want. The new version is shareware and does have a watermark, afaik.

I used the above program quite some time ago but it did a good job and had no watermark. Other than that, sorry, can't help. All the encoders I know of have a time limited trial or a watermark.

Actually, thinking on it, MainConcept has an unlimited trial with a watermark in the upper left corner. But, the mark is not that noticeable (to me) and, on a widescreen tv, probably not even visible.

a limited trial doesnt bother me a water mark does lol..

Two with trials but no watermark and that are very good are TMPGEnc Plus 2.5(not TMPGEnc) and Canopus Procoder Express.
