Hi all. I'm ripping domino with dvddecrypter right now and it's absolutely crawling. Has this movie got arrcos? I've never seen decrypter go so slow.

Also I've used vobblanker a couple times, but I've got a question about it. If I don't blank out any cells does just running the "process" do anything? I'm thinking of running domino through, and if nothing really jumps out as being a bad cell I thought maybe just processing it would do something.

Ok decrypter doesn't like this movie. After it stopped reading to keep trying to read errors I skipped the file.

What options do you normally run for vobblanker? Fixing internal vob pointers looks like it should be enabled correct?

augerpro,
Use DVDFAB Decrypter or AnyDVD. After that use VobBlanker and then either Shrink or Recode to compress.

A Guide by one of our members is below and you can subsitute Shrink for Recode:

Since i skipped a couple files with decrypter vobblanker wouldn't process because of the missing vobs. I downloaded AnyDVD and have it going now, but dvddecrypter is still crawling so that may not work.

I haven't tried dvdfab yet, is it a good ripper? Does it deal well with scratched/dirty discs?

I used DVD Decrypter to rip this movie over two weeks ago(it only took 14 min.) and didn't have a single problem. Do you have a dirty or scratched disc? I also used ImgBurn to make a DL backup which plays perfectly.

Well the disc isn't perfect. I'm ripping with dvdfab right now and it's slowed to crawl on the same VOB too.

Well dvdfab got through vts_01_4 where decrypter had a problem. But now it's slowing on vts_01_5. I hope my burner isn't going bad...

Been ripping for an hour now. Checked my ide settings and all are on ultra dma. I'm gonna let it do it's thing then rip some known good movies and see if it freaks out. This Liteon has been such a good burner for 18 months too, over 200 burns and not one coaster.

Oh well I guess it's time for a new NEC or Litey..

Ok finally finished. Processed with vobblanker. Now when I open the files with shrink it gets an error with vts_05 VOB and says something about invalid access to memory.

I'll try blanking those last vobs that gave dvdfab such a hard time.

I blanked vobs 5-8. Shrink analyzed ok, then i went to burn just the main movie. During deep analysis I got another similar error about vts_6 and "invalid access to memory location" Since it got through the initial analyze and the compression was only 97% I unchecked Deep Analysis and now it's burning fine. Someone know hwat the heck that was about?

@augerpro

You can use the guide that Car.Mike provided earlier for any new released or old movies. Just make sure you have the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter and that should take care of everything.

Seriously, I don't know why you're having so many issues ripping and backing up DOMINO. DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 should take care of DOMINO easily. You should not necessary needed VobBlanker for this movie. However, the "main" reason I want to process with VobBlanker is simply because I want to "blank out" any useless junks (fbi warnings, previews/trailers, etc., plus processing the file will correct all the bad sectors and or structures if there is/are any left over).

IMPORTANT: TURN OFF AnyDVD, DVD43 or other cracking engines that's running in the background in prior to rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter (DVDFAB Decrypter is already a great ripper). The same thing apply when you're "processing" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker. Because if you do, then it will conflict with DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker only. Therefore, you may end up with some kind of errors or issues. So my advise is to TURN THEM OFF.

You can simply use the below steps (INPUT, OUTPUT & PROCESS) for any of your future dvds/movies. However, keep in mind that VobBlanker needs the ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO file from your ripped movie, in order to process smoothly. With that being said, if you ripped with DVD Decrypter, then it needs to be ripped in MODE, File F successfully into your hard drive.

I strongly recommend you to rip the movie (any of your future movies) with the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter because Fengtao, the author of DVDIdle and DVDFAB Decrypter updates DVDFAB Decrypter regularly, so it can rip any dvds/movies easily. Unless you're using "PgcEdit + PSL plugins + FixVTS", then you can use DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to rip any dvds/movies flawlessly (this is my 2nd choice, I'll go with this route if DVDFAB Decrypter failed to rip only).

Just incase if you're curious to what I'm talking about when using VobBlanker. Below is a very "basic guide" on how to use VobBlanker. I did this for DOMINO, and yes... I ripped it with DVDFAB Decrypter, then process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker 2.1.1.0B1 (latest Beta version) within 5 minutes and it "processed" flawlessly.

**NOTE: for this movie (DOMINO), I "blanked out" all the Previews/Trailers, those 3 annoying FBI Warnings, plus the Rating logo/preview screens. However, I did not show on this quick guide.

Again, to be honest, I have never seen/encountered any dvds/moives that "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" can not handle, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS. I've been using VobBlanker for 5 plus months and I've never experienced any issues while "processing" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker whatsoever. So far VobBlanker has never let me down.

Good luck!!

Thanks alkohol for the reply. All I can think is my burner is starting to go. Except for the shrink error which I got around, the movie burned fine. I haven't watched the whole thing but the first 30 min is fine.

Got a litey 1693 and nec 3550 on the way. I'll put this old litey in my htpc for watching movies.
