Can anyone help me i followed pimp dawgs tutorial for crossover cable and connection but it times out every time.

Using avalaunch and where my I.P asddress is shown on the dashboard the following is shown:

0.0.0.0 Err X

When i go into settings and check my IP address etc. they are all correct as in the tutorial. I did notice though that if i switch to origianal MS dash and go into network settings they were all 0.0.0.0 so i changed them all to match the tutorial but they reset when i reboot my xbox, i tried to ftp while in the MS dash but connection timed out every time. PLEASE HELP ive tried turning off all firewall and anti-virus still no joy. The weirdest thing is that it used to work fine, then i formatted my pc harddrive and reinstalled everything and thats the onlything that wont work....

never used avalaunch but if its like UnleashX then this should be simple plug your crossover cable to your computer and into your xbox...next turn on your xbox and go to your dashboard.dont touch anything on the dashboard yet, go back to your comp and create a network on your computer that means go to contrl panel-network connections create network and a wizard will pop up just follow the steps on the wizard if it asks if u want to let other users in the network use this computers internet connection click yes.
now go back to your dashboard in avalaunch and in settings set your ip like this
ip-192.168.0.3
pass-xbox
user-xbox

now open up flash fxp and put in the same settings
ip-192.168.0.3
pass-xbox
user-xbox
all that gateway and subnet usually isnt needed now click connect and it should work....

yep ^^^ that is pretty much what i did too.
The Xbox has a few settings like Static Yes or No than may also make a difference.
Mine is set to no because i have it set up as a DHCP connection and not static. Then i entered the IP address in the Xbox that was close to the number from the connection you created with the wizard.
Like if the wizard is 192.168.0.1 then the above would work perfect.
