HI, I'm new here and I was wondering if there was a way to capture cinemas from the PS2 disc onto the harddrive and then convert it to mpeg?

I tried using isobuster to extract the .pss file out and save as .mpg(I used the opening cinema from Super Robot wars alpha 3) and I was able to only get video, but no audio.

Thanks :)

I use a tuner card for my PC, fed off my reciever, I am an avid player of socom 3 and made a greatest kills DVD for all of my clan members. Might not be what your looking for but an option at least...Can do some pretty cool things.

Thanks for replying guys.

I poked around some more on other sites and this is what I could find

turns out the audio and video are spliced together as .pss file(cinema files of the ps2 games, one needs pss Demux to split the files). I tried the guide but it's trial and error since the ability to extract the cinemas and convert them to mpeg varies on a case to case basis.

The good news is I learned how to use isobuster and pss_player to extract various files from the ps2 dvd, convert them to .pss(with isobuster) and then play the cinemas on my pc with pss_player.

BTW the link also has a link to downloading PSXMC, for extracting ps1 game cinemas.
