Dpeends what firmware your on, if your on 1.5 you could use the Fired up browser i cant seem to find where to download it anymore,
try www.psp-hacks.com, ive searched but cant find it.

If your on 2.0 just use PSP's browser

Then i doubt youll be surfing anything but waves,
heres the thing even if you do find connections by walking wround your neighbourhood. Most ppl have security and excryption that requires passwords. If they dont have security , it is very unreliable, when its your own wireless router you can mess with it and configure it to your psp.

Go to network settings
Select Infrastructure Mode.
Select New Connection. Chose a name if you like
Push the Right on Dpad to continue
Choose scan and it will scan for your network
If it finds a connection press right again on Dpad
Now at address settings try leaving it as easy first and keep pressing right on Dpad till it tells you to save, Then save.

If the connection didnt work then try going back to the Address settings step and putting in your ips and DNS
When it asks for Proxy server choose "do not use"

If you have security you have to enter your WEPor WPA/PSK password.
