I've been using ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum 4 to rip DVDs, but I have run into an issue. No matter what codec I use to rip my Family Guy season DVDs every episode's audio goes out after about 5 minutes and then when it comes back it is not in sync with the cartoons' mouthes.

Is there another program like ImTOO DVD Ripper that works just as good and may not have this problem or does someone have another solution to my problem?

Which format did you rip your DVD to?
Exchange a DVD to try, and check whether the same problem exists or not.

Guides I collected:
DVD creator (convert AVI, DivX, Xvid to DVD): http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/avi_to_dvd_avi2dvd.cfm
AVI MPEG WMV to iPhone movie converter: http://www.iphonevideoconverter.com/
Video Converter (convert between VOB, AVI, MPG, WMV, RM, MP4, 3GP, DivX, MOV, ASF, etc.): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/268285

Try the free DVD FabDecrypter and rip to you HDD and then compress and burn with whatever programs you usually use.

The problem is only with the Family Guy DVDs like my post stated and I have tried all compression settings, like my post stated.

I don't want to burn them straight to DVD again, I want to take the episodes and edit them down to what I think the best parts are... Kind of like a clip show.

Rip with DVDFab to your HDD and then you can edit your video.

No I can't, it rips to a .VOB file and video editing programs cannot edit .VOB files.

Nero and DVD Shrink do and that is what I use. What format do you need to rip to?
