Hi Im a little confused about the firmware versions... I know there are upgrades and downgrades, I know that you cant downgrade if you have any version higher than 2.00 and that you can downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 but I still havent found out what firmware version my psp is going to have when I pull it out of the box.

Its coming in the mail tommorow, could someone please tell me what fw version a new psp as of 3/8/06 comes with. Thanks I know the answer is probably right in front of me but Ive looked all over and I cant find a concrete answer

Not sure mate...could be 2.01+ ring your local games shop an ask them,they should be able to give u the answer ur lookin for.

if you use the search button, just take a few minutes out of your time and you will find a thread in the psp forum, which contains codes in which u can tell what firmware you have from lookign at the serial no. so if your not happy just return it, they will accept it because the box has nt been opened :D

I bought my psp a little before christmas and I got 2.0 ... I asked them to check it to see what firmware it was before i bought it ... go to a game shop that has used ones ... they will let you see which firmware it is on new or used ones :) i got the NEW giga-pack nice ... also anyone know where to d/l some games on the web

2.01, I suggest either getting a used one at EB or one of those game deals at Cosco, they have them on 1.51 and you can downgrade.
