hi people..wondering if any one could help..well ive been using nero for the last few years[version 60.15]and now decided i want to upgrade to the latest version so i downloaded nero 7 trial installed it..no problems but u c i have alot of vcds and when i try to burn a backup in nero burning rom it tells me it must first be encoded.reinstalled older nero no problems.Q>>what must i do??
You didn't say which version of Nero 7 you downloaded, but several people have had problems with the early versions. The newest version 7.0.8.4, so far, seems to be stable. You might want to try that one or wait until all the bugs are out and a real stable version is released.

If those backups are going to turn into DVD's, (i done just that with loads of my Svcd's!) Nero Vision 4 is what you need...
Follow our fellow Alkohol's guide to AVI conversions but instead, throw your VCD's in its place...

Instead of adding those video files like we do with AVI's, import them from your DVD drive (your VCD disc)...
Have fun and most importantly, be pacient...
Quote:@alkohol, I will wait for your report in about a week before I venture into 7.0.8.2........mines still working perfectly, Cheers.
@gwendolin
When I updated to 7.0.5.4, there's a lot of bugs, so I went back to 7.0.1.4. When 7.0.5.5 is out, I updated to 7.0.5.5 and everything worked fine as always. I recently updated to 7.0.8.2 yesterday and so far, everything seems to be working smoothly. Nero Vision, Nero Recode 2, Nero Burning Rom, Nero Express, Nero ShowTime, Nero CD-DVD Speed, Nero BackItUp, all worked for me.
