If you're downloading a game, most of the time it'll be compressed with WinRAR. You'll know because you'll have a dozen or so files. Just open any one of the files and WinRAR will show the whole iso. Then just extract the iso. It'll take a few minutes. Then you can just burn the iso like you would any other backup. Hope this is helping some.

That's all you need as long as you have a mod chip. With swap magic you might have to rebuild the game. I'm not sure how that goes, I use a chip myself.
DVD Decrypter would be easier to use than nero, imo.
I'm not sure I'm allowed to post this but I bet you can get it the same place that you're gonna get the game from. If I'm not allowed to say that then don't listen to me. 8^)

No, it will just tell you to inserty a valid PS2 disc, or go to a black or red screen and stay there. But it will not damage it.
What will is if you get a chip and have a V12 and do not get a laser fix.
Or you back up your games on DVD's that have cheap dye like Memorex.
Then you are just asking to have your laser burn out.

Ya, I believe Sony's are good. I've never used them, though. Only Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim Data Life Plus is what I use.

You'd think so wouldn't you? Rootkit Shiznits.. anyway Sony DVDs.. I don't think are too great, all I've had are problems. I highly reccomend Verbatim or Tuiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R and burn at 4x. I've backed up 75+ PS2 games using that method.

Well there you go....my bad. Your best bet is to order off the internet. I use supermediastore.com. They always seem to have sales on TY's.
