Well, I have been downloading alot of avi files recently and I thought I would burn them onto A data DVD to save space on my hard drive. However after burning to Phillips DVD-R's at 2x the data verification failed. And when I select the DVD from My computer it states that there is not any data on the DVD. However I can click on the dvd and play the files, and they seem to play quite well. Although I have not been able to watch all of them as there is around 10 hours worth of video. Should I be worried since there was an error? or just keep the dvd since it plays fine? and lastly what do You think the error was anyway? Here is the log

You're always going to have trouble burning, 512meg RAM is recommended mimimum, I would recommend adding more RAM, in the meantime close down all unnecessary prog and dont multitask while burning.

These are horrible discs and more than likely your problem, try some quality discs such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden or Sony (made in Japan)

I have just done a firmware search and yours is several versions behind, go here to update to 2.1a

Thank You very much for the reply. I have updated My firmware, Re-installed nero and used A nexxtech DVD-R this time. Since I had some laying around the house. And the DVD was burnt and verified successfully . :) sweet

P.S: have You heard anything good/bad about Nexxtech DVD's?

No offense, but Nexxtech media is junk, it's the same as CMC MAG. The only media I recommend are: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "Advanced Azo or Datalife Plus" and Hitachi Maxell (made in japan). Or for high quality media, just read my sig. or head to the DVD-R/+R forum.

Other than that, I wouldn't even want to waste any of my hard earned penny on any other brands of media.

@ssj4_2004, As I said earlier, it will not hurt to increase your memory(RAM) as it will help with your burns, glad to hear you're now up and butning. Cheers
