Oh well i thought creating a new thread would help me get an answer faster. anyways, i just have some Windows Media Audio/Video files (i think the files are .wmv). i wanna burn them and create a DVD-video. now obviously i don't have the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files. now my main question is, how do i get them? i just need to convert the .wmv files into AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. then i can just use nero and burn them. (i know that much). i also wanted to know that can i convert other video files like .avi and other video formats into audio_ts and video_ts folders and still be able to use nero and create a DVD-video DVD? any help is appreciated!

I understand what you are trying to accomplish, but I dont think it is possible.

I recommend downloading a program called DivXtoDVD...

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/v...

it is free and very handy. I use it quite often. Very simple and straight forward.

If I catch what you need, couldn't you take your w.m.v and AVI files and convert them to DVD with something like WinAVI? You'll then have the Audio and Video TS files you need. This is what I use, then I burn with Nero.

I use this program and it seems pretty easy to use.I'm by no means qualified to get in to particulars about this program,so rather than giving you some wrong information, take a look at their website.http://www.winavi.com/en/video-converter/video-converter.htm
There is a free trial you can try.Just incase you have a video Ipod,it will convert files so you can watch them on it also.I don't work for these people,I just find it easy to use.If you don't like this one there are plenty others that can do the same thing.Hope this helps or points you in the right direction.

Doesnt mean that it didnt work... it means that there isnt enough space on your hard drive to work... I found that converting 1G of .AVI files it came out to be about 4G of Audio and Video TS. Also, make sure you designate an output folder...

Go to the "GUIDES" section of this site. There is a real good guide that shows how to use WinAVI.There are the names with guides of other converting programs there to.

You said you want to burn with Nero, why not use Nerovision express?
That will convert any files and walk you through how to make a DVD out of it.

alright i did download the Nero vision express but i didn't use it yet. i was using WinAVI and it worked perfectlly. however, once done it writes something that is displayed in the middle, through out the whole video. i didn't really get a chance to read it but i believe it is showing that this video was created by WinAVI, a way of advertising the software. this time i'll go with it but next time i guess i'll use vision express. hopefully it doesn't have a catch as well.

and of course the Nero StartSmart
I dont have pictures but when you open startsmart and you see the Nero logo up on the left side and point to it you can access your version and newest versions with an option to download the latest.

That image appears in the trial soft. So you need to buy the soft and the message goes away.:.

Purchase WinAVI to get rid of the logo, or update for free your Nero. Choice is yours.

I use WinAVIVideo Converter to convert a move to dvd format. But the software converter the movie into 4 different VIDEO_TS parts. When i try to brun it all in 1 dvd disk i can't. The four VIDEO_TS files has files with thr same name. So i can't brun it. But when i change the name i can't burn it. How can i burn all four VIDEO_TS files in 1 dvd disk?

I think you would burn the VIDEO and AUDIO TS folders, don't open the folders up and try to burn individual files.

I'm glad to see it finally worked out for you. Now,if I can only do it myself as easily as you seemed to have figured it out and done. For some reason I can explain it to others but when I go to do it myself, well something goes wrong.Oh well it might take awhile but I eventually "get er done.":)
