I want to back up my 3 yr old daughter's DVDs, so she won't ruin the originals.I have the DVD43, but it won't do the job, is there another back up program or an update that I can get for this purpose?

anydvd will work like DVD43 (this is not free but you can get a 21 day free trial from slysoft.com. in my opinion if you do have to buy it is is well worth the $40 as it is regulary updated & has never let me down backing up even the latest movies.)

Just for reference, these are the PS2 not the DVD ripping forums. AnyDVD runs in the background to disable copy protection and make the disc region free, it doesn't actually burn discs. You need to use a seperate program to recode the discs to DVD-5 (single layer) like Nero Recode or DVD Shrink. Or if the disc is already DVD-5 (under 4.38GB's), you need to rip it with DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD running in the background. How big is the disc you're trying to backup? Go to my computer and click on your DVD-ROM drive while the disc is in it and post the size of the disc.

anydvd just "runs in the background' double click the AnyDVD icom on your desktop you will then see a small fox head in the bottom right of the task bar - this means AnyDVD is running then all you do is use your copy software as normal (with AnyDVD running it will remove copy protection so as your normal burning software will work)

Okay it's Dual Layer. You'll need to dowload DVD Shrink and resize it to DVD-5. Open Any DVD. Then Open DVD Shrink. Then follow this guide:
