i formated and now for some reason i cant put any big files on it
it starts transfering files and freezes and stops transfer even though the memory stick is blinking ,i repeated the format a few more time and now istead of 1904mb i see 952mb (1gb) and i still cant transfer big files...

Did you buy the card on eBay? There are fakes that look legit that can only be written on a few times as 2 gb, then they freeze and can't be written on anymore, or as in your case, go down substantially in size. Sorry to tell you, but you may have been ripped off. The only thing I can suggest, if its a legit card, Sony will honour whatever warrenty and replace the card... if not, opt for a cheaper Sandisk 2gb from someone who claims its legit and that it's got a warrenty.

Yeah, well, its probably fake. Try the warrenty (if you still have the packaging that came with it) or try to talking with Sony.

Yeah, the fakes are well manufactured, hologram and all.
The only things you can do: confront your friend about it, or go to Sony and ask them to replace it. If they do, it was real, if they don't it was fake, and thank your lucky stars you got at least a gig out of it opposed to just a dud.

That sucks... I guess the stars weren't so lucky. Just try to take it back, or talk to your friend. Best of luck... looks like you'll need it.

Try formatting it with Windows, using FAT format not FAT32 or NTFS.
Then format it using the psp.

Can you go into the stick and see the files inside?
if you can manually delete every file on the stick then try a format.

Try this step by step,
Go into the stik and delete every file,
then check and see the space available, if its 1904 then your on the right track hopefully,
After that format it in Windows choosing FAT
Then after thats done
Format it in PSP.
I know its the same process but make sure you do it in order.
