Trouble with PS2 not reading a copied DVD-R backup

I have copied one of my playstation 2 games to a DVD-R by using the DVD decrypter and when i finaly get the game copied and i go to put it in my PS2, it says "Error reading disk". I think my PS2 is an older version that wont read copied DVD-R games with blue backs but is there any way I could get it to work without using a modchip or other device?

Waymon, not only is your console not chipped, which prevents backups from working, but you burnt your game on the wrong disc. Games that have a blue base on their disc are CD-ROM games(says so in the user's guide.) You need to burn the game on a CD-R, not a DVD-R.
