i think its possible to get authetic ty media and the media still be crap,think that what i got at supermediastore.com

well, while you are correct that the batch you got from supermediastore might be "crap," that is NOT to say that authentic Taiyo Yuden media is crap~ :) 2 entirely different things my friend...even taiyo yuden have their "bad batches" sometimes, as does EVERY other manufacturer out there, so for you to have indeed received a "bad batch" of TYs in your order, simply get an RMA from supermediastore and get a replacement~! it's that simple...if you have a problem with GENUINE Taiyo Yuden media, chances are :
1. you got a "bad batch" so simply return them for an exchange
2. you don't have the "backup process" down yet
3. firmware is NOT up to date, hence your issues with TY media
4. your burner is too old to even recognize and burn properly to TY media
or a combination of ALL the above :) in MOST cases of "bad reports" about authentic TY media, the consumer has gotten a "bad batch"...in all the OTHER cases, it's OPERATOR ERROR that is causing the problems with the media, not the media itself~ :) let's just hope that you fall under the "bad batch" category...

Quite some time ago, I bought some Fuji/Yudens that were 'coastering out' at an amazing rate ... I returned them to Best Buy and was told that quite a few of that batch was being returned ... If you looked at the dye side of the disc you could see dye streaks ... In my Yuden experience, this is a rare occurance but every manufacturer does from time to time experience it's own problems ... Patience is a virtue and a doctor's best friend ... ROFLMAO ... {inside joke for the Docster}

I've put in 4 purchased from supermediastore.com on the 8X DVD+R Taiyo Yuden (YUDEN000T02) on the past and I don't recall getting any bad batch/defected disc yet. Maybe I'm just lucky, maybe their DVD+R are better (more advanced).

I guess I am lucky as well... I have around 800 burns on TY (both formats) and only ONE "defective" disc...

I've gone through over 5000 Fuji/Yudens and over 5000 Verbatim discs as well as a bunch of Ritek, Maxell, Office Depot etc ... you're gonna find a bad one from time to time and they usually come in groups ...

"bad batches" happen to EVERY brand of disc, whether your luck prevails or not during your burning journey, that all really depends...
i don't have as many Verbatim burns as my buddy catfreak and probably pale in comparison to the other brands too, but my Taiyo Yuden count is even higher than his and i can safely say in all my years of using TY, i've had less than 2% "coaster" rate...unbranded or not~ guess i've been "lucky" too~ :)

Any even at only 2% ... 10,000+ burns will yield ya 200+ coasters ... enough to keep the skeet shooting skills razor sharp

let me clear things up the taiyos i get from sony and fujifilm no problems ,but when i bought 2 50 pack spindles from supermediastore.com tryed first 10 of each spindle all where coasters but one.id checked out as taiyo same as the id on the sony taiyos and fujifilm ones,and my burner is up to date,nothin wrong with my system thank you very much,not a newbie either by the way,probarly know more than most when it comes to dvd stuff mod.

if you are so darn knowledgeable and know more than most regarding dvd stuff, why did it not occur to you that you did in fact get a "bad batch" (in ur case, 2 bad batches in 50-pack spindles) from supermediastore.com?
just pointing out something that wasn't as obvious to you apparently, nobody is attacking you here, nobody is disputing your "knowledge base" regarding computers and anything tech related...Quote:

since it's an ONLINE purchase, simply calling supermediastore and giving them your shipping address/some personal information i'm sure they can look up your order for ya and you CAN get that RMA taken care of...hmm...might give it a try if you are still within your 30 days period, obviously u were NOT satisfied with your purchase and just letting you know that you are NOT up "$hit creak" yet if it's still within 30 days of purchase...
