Can I burn a .NRG format movie to DVD+/-R???

I just got a movie downloaded but it's in .nrg format. I've never delt with this before. Can I burn this file to a DVD-R or DVD+R and have it play on a DVD player?

Can I burn 2 or 3 files like this to the same disc? or 1 .nrg file and 1 .iso file to the same disc?

if it contains the vobs etc,then yes

use dvd decrypter

I just opened it with IsoBuster. It contains 4 files.

1) EXT -> SCANDATA.DAT
2) MPEG2 -> AVSEQ01.MPG
3) SEGMENT -> FILE EMPTY
4) SVCD -> ENTRIES.SVD
-> INFO.SVD
-> LOT.SVD
-> PSD.VCD
-> SEARCH.DAT
-> TRACKS.SVD

I have no clue what all this is. Anyone able to tell me if I'm out of luck or if I can still burn to DVD Media?

Converting video never really works for me. I've tried several programs before for AVI files to .VOB and they NEVER play on my DVD player (every once and a while one will play on a family members dvd player).

Currently I have WinAVI Video Converter on my computer.

Any suggestions?

well if it was me i would use isobuster to extract the mpeg from it,and then run it through TMPGEnc dvd author (wont take that long)
this will give you a ts folder which you burn to dvd disk
i have never come across a nrg image before in a movie,so cant be sure

tmpgenc plus will except it / tmpgenc dvd author wont!

could use convertxtodvd or maninconcept to make mpeg to mpeg2 dvd compliant

but i would plum for convertxtodvd (does the vob/ifo/bup too - just burn them to dvdr)

.nrg is what Nero outputs out for thier image files. It is pretty much an ISO file named .nrg You actully could rename it from .nrg to .iso and it will still work.

So all in all it is just a VCD image file that you could burn to CD-R and watch. Or like above you could take out the AVSEQ01.MPG and use a program to convert it to DVD structure and burn to DVD.

2) MPEG2 -> AVSEQ01.MPG Is the video file itself. (which is DVD Player compliant. Most DVD Players will play VCD or SVCD along with DVD)

I have myself downloaded a few VCD files and will extract out all the AVSEQ01.MPG type files and rename them to (example: file1.MPG file2.MPG file3.MPG) I then will burn a DVD data disc and burn all the renamed Mpeg files on it. Now when you place it in your DVD player it will bring up a menu letting you choose what file you want to play. (downside is if it is a 2 part movie you will have to switch files in the middle of the movie which only takes a few secondes)

On 1 of my DVD players it dosent bring up a menu it will just start the Mpeg file and then will go to the next then next till all the Mpeg files have been played. In this case if it is a 2 part movie import the first part into Nero first then the second part next. that way you wont have a pause bewteen the 2 parts.

I did it this way beacuse I wasnt going to keep the VCD files I only wanted to watch them once and didnt want to take the time to convert them to DVD.

As of now I dont even do that I will extract them and put them into my Xbox share folder and just network from my computer to my Xbox and watch the files that way without waisting CD-R or DVD disc.

As you can see there is a few ways you could go about doing this. You just need to pick what way suites you best and try it see if you like it.
