OK, I'm fairly new to all this and thought I was sensible enough to pay someone (v.reasonable sum!) to get ps2menu 0.21 & hdadvance etc
on a memory card; all I had to do was use Winhiip (great app) to transfer the iso's to my 200GB disk, no worries. This all works v.well, but what I'd like to know is how to get these files transfered (and working!) to another memory card. I can FTP to the PS2 and copy files to and from the pc, but when I copy the files back to the new card all seems well as the menu boots but am unable to select my drive (R1 key)and says at the bottom "ps2mnu-k.elf failed"
any ideas ??
You can copy from 1 memory card to the other from your ps2, you could try that (i think the system config is the file you need). Or you could see if you can get that person to put the programs on your other memory card for free. The process takes about 20 seconds.
Jeez that'b 2 easy ! Didn't even bother trying that one till I got desperate; you can't copy the files as they show up as bad data and will not copy, OK.
Answering my own question here but had to use a swap magic disk and tool; create my own title.db and then burn an independance install to cd (5 goes to find one that actually booted to something useful) then run LAUNCHELF (was installed from the exploit cd) copy boot files and others stuff for FTP and HDLoader etc (the version that came with the exploit iso didn't work, suprise!) Blimey, Launchelf has a nicer screen than the crusty psmenu thing but I think all that is needed is HDLoader/Advance to load automatically u can then select any other files (executables) from the HDD. SO I STILL LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO COPY FILES FROM 1 MEMORY CARD TO ANOTHER? (we're not talking save games here alright!)
Got SwapMagic some time ago but never used it. Thanks tho' copying the sys config worked, am using launchelf now as u can set the default to ur hdd prog but still load other apps if ness. TA.....
