i am looking to purchase a mod chip or something for our playstation 2 that will allow us to play import games. i have the adult leisure suit larry game in pal and am looking for a way to play it. as of right now i get a screen asking me for a format disk. i need some advice on what to buy, where to buy it, and then how to install it. i am hoping to do this as a surprise for my man, for his B-day. i have the old ps2 and the slim line ps2. so i would like something for the older model if possible. if not so be it.

ok.....first, you need swapmagic....just google it....it will cost you about 25 dollars. most of them come with a slide card and instructions, (this is not a modchip..in my opinion, it is better)

once you do that, you can burn games on your pc with a thing called DVD Decryptor.

after you have burnt the game(s) all you have to do is insert the swapmagic disc, a screen will come up saying--please insert a disc, then you use your slide card......first, take the cover off your disc tray(there is a screw underneath and behind the cover of the disc tray) then you stick this slide card underneath the disc tray, and feel around for a little pin, the hook on your slide card will cath it, and you slide it to your right, then you swap discs with tghe burnt game, push the disc tray back in w/ your hand, and feel around for the pin(towards the far right is where it should be), and you slide that pin back to the left......press any button and youre done......

NOW, it sounds like a whole lot of work, but it really isnt....if you have any problems, private message me, or just post a new thread!

yeah, modchip will cost around 50-100 and you have to solder onto your motherboard,
