OK, so I've got Shin Budokai and I've heard of people running the iso in 1.5 by using the mph loader and the flash 0 and 1 info from a 2.5 firmware dump. My question is this, if this is true, where does one find a 2.5 firmware dump? I've looked everywhere but with no luck.

NM, I found a walkthrough on how to make a 2.0 firmware dump. Still looks like a lot of work. I'll try again in the morning. If anyone feel like making a dbz walkthrough, it would be awesome.

I havent heard of this, and i was under the impression MPHloader only worked with the 2.0 flash0 flash1

However if you want to try it, heres the firmware update,
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/10 get the 2.5 which is the one you want.
youll need to change the eboot to file format, psardump tool will do this.

EDIT: Ok let me know how it goes man,

well im about to try with a firmware dump of 2.5 but so far with a 2.0 dump it loads the startin bits/ads and then shutdowns my psp... if sum1 realy tries i think sum1 can make a fix cuz it almost works..

OK, so I did a firmware dump of 2.0. Did that no problem. Now, I'm unsure how to use this with the mph iso launcher? I can emulate 2.0 firmware which is neat in itself, but I don't know how to use this to my advantage. I can't load any emulators while emulating 2.0. I feel like I'm so close I'm just stuck.

It's not that simple, shin budokai DOES NOT work with mph iso loader running firmware 2.0 and the loader doesnt work with 2.5 either so we need sum1 2 make a fix for dbz.

Other then that your lost cuz u cant run iso's on firmware 2.0 when you emulate it so stop trying to. Instead go and download MPH Game Loader not Firmware Loader..

I don't have 2.0 firmware. I have 1.5. I've now made a firmware dump of 2.0 and 2.5. I found a walkthrough that explains how to make a custom firmware to load games such as these. I'm stumbling through it, but we'll see how it goes.

hey im happy wen ppl admit they are noobs so dw yur a sikunt.

a firmware dump is where u download an update for the firmware u want, then u use MPH firmware loader to extract from the eboot file (the update file) the files it needs to load the firmware and emulate it. The firmware is in the form of two folders, flash1 n flash0, these 2 folders are placed in the MPH Game Loader folder when you want to load 2.00+ games..

the dump works fine. i even shrinked down the iso to 280, with all the movies, sound and nothing removed. the only downfall is the ad hoc multiplayer fun isnt working

Actually... its really weird. Yesterday, I got DBZ Shin Budokai working using MPH Loader and I was like... "Yay! It works!" Then today, I try and load it up and guess what happens? It gets stuck at the loading screen. I have no idea what changed between today and yesterday, so yeah...

make sure you're using mph game loader v1.1 and NOT 1.0,
go to ps2nfo and obtain the "lightforce dbz fix" (these are the flash 0 and flash 1 folders.

go to the folder called "mphgameloader" on the ROOT of your mem stick and replace the old flash 0 and flash 1 folders with the dbz fixed flash folders (lightforce).

run umd emulator on SYSTEM BOOT that takes you back to the psp menu fire up mph game loader 1.1 and you're done, enjoy ;)

ceramic white psp v1.5 with lotsa tricks :)

Ok, for anyone who can't get the game to work from the previous info and links...click on this:

http://www.benanddana.com/Downloads/PSPDBZFix.rar

It's a zip of everything you'll need plus some to get this game to work. It includes the fixed flash0 and 1 folders (to let sleep mode work) and the mph loader and umd emulator . just unzip, and copy everything to the root of your memory stick. Stick a working iso in the iso folder and you're good to go.

The sound doesn't work because one of two reasons:

Your ISO was changed. Before downloading/ripping it, someone or you changed some or all of the prx files. With the firmware dump, no changes are necessary.

Or...

If your ISO is the direct rip... reformat your memory stick (take off your save game and whatnot first) and reinstall the MPH loader and all those other programs.
