I guess if you like this sort of thing then getting it would be OK. They have a 90 day refund policy and if you can't copy a movie because of new protection you can get your money back.

Slick website, I like it.

BTW check your caps button, it appears to be stuck.

Also, because this is a next generation DVDXcopy program support might be found here:

@BILLJJ
I'd pass on it - I think it's like $70 for x copy users. New users $100 - too much either way imo. Might look slicker but that's about it - again imo. Will handle some of the newer movies though.
If your looking to pay then go with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 - much more user friendly and does a few things neXt copy can't.
Then there's the free stuff: dvdfab decrypter (rip) shrink (encode) and decrypter (burn but ripper too).

atually its quite a good program, well that was till i broke it.
Ask darthnip (he beta tested it well he gave me a go at it in january) if they got all the bugs out before you purchase it though.I did like the feature that allows converted avi files to be burnt through it and the niffty menus

neXt wasn't to my liking :) then again I rarely do AVI files so didn't try that. I didn't like several things in it when in other progs they were automatic options. I did like how it talked though!
How did you break it?

I just happened to walk into the room where the pc running it was and heard it talk - said something complete or similar. But it's already history on my pc's.

That seems to have been a problem with XCopy software from day one. From the sounds of it, they've just added a bunch of utilities that one can get for free or are available in burning suites.

$99.99 with an MSRP of $149.99. Wonder if it would sell any better if they jacked the MSRP up to $249.99 and sold it for $79.99. I still think it's overpriced. The only thing it has on Nero and other programs is that it has its own decryption software. I much prefer AnyDVD for that purpose anyway.

The key to doing a good backup is having a clean, compliant source. So the best investment a person can make is in getting good decryption software that handles the newer protection systems on the later DVDs. I use AnyDVD. If I need a ripper, I still use the free DVD Decrypter set for use with AnyDVD. If I need to make the files compliant, I use the free FixVTS. (AnyDVD incorporated FixVTS in the ripper now included.) Once that task is accomplished (getting the clean, compliant source), most any transcoder and burner can finish the job; some a bit better than others. That depends on how well they transcode or encode the files. There's enough freeware to do a good job of that. If one likes the bells and whistles, there's a lot of retail software available for less than $99.99.

Well, they've not honored your request yet. I've tried the past versions of XCopy. I never suffered the interference problems as severely as others did. Overall, I thought it was a decent program. My biggest complaint was that it was always overpriced. Seems they're not the only one. The likes of InterVideo aren't cheap either. I might give it a spin later. I doubt I'd go with it though. I've been spoiled by using a true encoder program. By the way, is this one from XCopy-International, or has someone else gotten the rights to the software?

As I mentioned to Ireland in a PM, DVDneXtCopy is a gem in the rough. It can stand a little work; but after all, it is new. I did a full disc backup of a movie. The program was fairly quick, and the output good. It could handle files a bit better, but that didn't have an effect on the backup. I'd also prefer to see all of the program installed to one folder instead of being spread around. I hope they'll address some of the suggestions I made, it would make the program worth closer to that $99.99 sale price. I'm curious to see how the decryption software will be maintained; especially since the movie industry is continuously upping the copyright protections on DVDs lately. I suspect AnyDVD will work, but part of the package being purchased with DVDneXtCopy is decryption software. So, will SlySoft's AnyDVD be needed or not? R&D and support are going to be important to any programs being offered to today's market.

well that will be interesting to see if this is continually upgraded, as you are right the encryptions are getting more sophisticated but i also hope they keep there cosmetic features like the voice that comes with it.That was a pretty nice feature

Vso has had those little sound bites for some time. I don't get a thrill out of them like some do. They could use a better sounding voice. LOL I'm more interested in seeing the editing features beefed up with some default selections for audio tracks and language selection. I'm sure they can do it since cheaper software, including some freeware, are offering the options.
