Ok i got a few questions...

1) ok my dad just found a laptop from 2000 at his work. The work said he could have it so he gave it to me. There is password protection to login and he doesnt remember his pass from 2000. So i need to do somthing. Is there a way to reinstall windows , and or upgrade to XP?

2) If not should i just install linux?

3) I can boot from disk, and I need to know if i can boot, and install windows over the company information?

1) Yes, there are many ways to reinstall Windows.

2) You can install Linux if you want to.

3) Over the company information? If you choose to install XP, just delete the partition, create a new one..format and be done with it.

Please elaborate? and i lost my windows cd, can i mak an iso of a downloaded windows xp? i got my serial number though.

Stay away from downloading Windows over the internet. You're better off buying it.

also the key # might not work with different version of xp
